Emily
Center Director
Hello! I am the owner and Center Director of Mathnasium for the greater Wausau area. As a mother of kids currently enrolled in local schools - I understand firsthand the rewards and challenges of helping young people thrive in their education.
My goal is to help students build confidence in their math skills while also fostering better homework habits and a positive attitude toward school. At Mathnasium, we are committed to creating a welcoming and fun learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed, master math, and develop a love for it! I have seen the ‘Mathnasium model’ transform how students approach math, allowing them to grasp concepts in a way that makes sense to them.
I also strive to build lasting partnerships with local schools, businesses, and community leaders to support and enrich the lives of students in our area. I look forward to meeting and getting to know the families who walk through our doors and being a part of their journey toward success!
Aspen
Instructor
Aspen is a dedicated and vibrant individual, poised to graduate from Wausau East High School in June and continue her academic journey at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She is deeply passionate about the arts, particularly theater, and often finds joy in expressing her creativity on stage. Aspen is also an avid reader, constantly exploring new stories and ideas, and cherishes quality time spent with her three beloved dogs. Her enthusiasm for working with children shines through her professional experiences at two esteemed children's museums. These roles have allowed her to engage young minds through interactive exhibits and activities, fostering curiosity and learning in fun and impactful ways. Aspen’s ability to connect with kids, paired with her diverse interests and approachable personality, highlights her commitment to making a difference both in and outside of Mathnasium.
Wayne
Instructor
Wayne is a proud U.S. Navy veteran who recently earned his Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies, with a focus on Secondary Mathematics Education, from Western Governors University. After spending most of his life in sunny San Diego, California, he made the bold decision to relocate to Wausau, Wisconsin. He was drawn to Wisconsin by the allure of its four distinct seasons and, of course, the legendary Green Bay Packers! When he's not shaping young minds in the world of mathematics, Wayne enjoys cruising the streets of Wausau as a DoorDash driver, exploring the area while delivering meals. In his downtime, he loves unwinding with friends through epic video game sessions. Wayne's journey reflects a love for adventure, a thirst for knowledge, and a deep appreciation for both new and familiar experiences. We are thrilled to have Wayne on our team and look forward to the positive impact he’ll bring to our students!

Ty has discovered a true passion for teaching math, and his enthusiasm shines through in everything he does. This fall, he will take the next step in his journey as a math educator at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, bringing his dedication and energy to a whole new level.
Ty's commitment to sharing his love of math and helping others tackle tough concepts is truly inspiring. He makes learning engaging and rewarding for students, and we're confident he'll be an exceptional guide for our Mathletes.
Outside of the classroom, Ty knows how to bring the fun! Whether it's games or sports with friends and family, his competitive spirit and love of teamwork make every activity memorable. A seasoned cross-country runner and an impressive winter curler, Ty thrives in team environments where challenges push him to excel.

Mathnasium provides premium value by combining a superior learning experience with an efficient structure that keeps costs low. There is a flat enrollment fee for our program, and students attend regularly—much like a gym membership. We recommend that they attend Mathnasium 2-3 times per week as attending less frequently will slow results and attending too often could lead to student burnout. Pricing varies by program and geographic area. Contact our center for more details on enrollment packages.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, a proprietary teaching approach which combines personalized learning plans with proven techniques to build math knowledge upon what students already know, so they're able to retain what they learn and gain confidence along the way.
No. All learning occurs under the efficient and effective guidance of our trained instructors. Adding homework would risk frustration and overload. In fact, we'll set aside some time each session to help your student with their school homework.
