Megan Curtale, Center Director
Megan is the Center Director at Mathnasium of Peoria. Prior to opening his Mathnasium center, Megan worked as a Realtor, business Manager, and tutor. She has her Bachelors of Science in History and Political Science, and Sociology and Psychology from Eureka College where she was a Reagan Fellow. While Megan has traveled across the globe working in a variety of different specialties, she has always had a passion for teaching and working with children. She feels nothing is more rewarding than seeing the sparkle in a child's eye when they finally understand something they had been previously struggling with. Megan has been married for almost 2 years now, and is expecting their first child in November.
Heather Smith, Instructor
Miss Heather graduated from Judson University in 2013 with a BA in Mathematics. She has been tutoring high school students in math since 2011. Miss Heather taught math for one year in a high school classroom, and has been working as a paraprofessional in the Dunlap School District since 2015. She enjoys participating in productions with Corn Stock Theater and has previously studied abroad at Harlaxton Manor in England for a semester while in college.
Kayla Geeseman, Instructor
When Miss Kayla is not working at Mathnasium, she tutors college students at ICC. She has a degree in Biology, and is a licensed scuba diver. Miss Kayla enjoys doing work in community theater, but her favorite thing to do is spend time with her daughter.
Courtney Jablon, Instructor
Miss Courtney loves kids, their unique outlook on life, and helping them discover that they love learning. She was a classroom teacher for 23 years, enjoys volunteering with her youth group, and thinks it is a lot of fun when reluctant mathematicians become enthusiastic proponents of their latest mathematical theory.
Zalan Shah, Instructor
Mr Zalan plans to attend Bradley University in the fall, majoring in Chemistry with a pre-medical focus. Mr Zalan used to hate math as a child until his parents got him a tutor that completely changed his perspective on math. He now works at Mathnasium to help children find their passion for math in the same capacity that he was once helped. Mr Zalan is an avid sports player and enjoys table tennis.
Ameer Taher, Instructor
Mr Ameer will be a Senior at Richwoods High School and is part of their IB Program. When not doing school work, he likes to go out with friends or watch YouTube videos. Mr Ameer likes picking up new hobbies and learning new things online. One of his big interests is post production of movies and he likes to edit videos for film class with friends. Math and Science are his favorite subjects, and he has a great time working with the kids here at Mathnasium!
Montreal Thomas, Instructor
Mr Montreal plans on attending Blackburn College in the fall and majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. He is currently a part of the International Baccalaureate program at Richwoods High School. When Mr Montreal is not doing school work, he volunteers in his community and uses his spare time to learn coding and play video games. He loves mathematics and his job here at Mathnasium!
