Have You Ever Wondered What 350 Pounds of Frozen Turkey Looks Like?

Nov 14, 2019 | Tallahassee

Have you ever wondered what 350 pounds of frozen turkey looks like? We can show you! Today, Mathnasium of Tallahassee, thanks to our awesome Mathletes, donated 350 pounds of turkey to the Second Harvest of the Big Bend Food Bank and WTXL-TV Turkey Drive to help those in our area who are less fortunate have a memorable Thanksgiving.

Why 350 pounds of frozen turkey? Our Mathletes earn reward cards as they complete their math work with us. They can then use those cards in our reward cabinet to go shopping for gift cards, toys and other goodies. We told them, for each reward card they donate, we would turn it into a pound of turkey. Three hundred fifty reward cards later … we were clearing out the turkey case at the store.

Mathnasium of Tallahassee’s “Together Equals Greater Than…” spotlights organizations and community partners who are working to improve the lives of Tallahassee and Big Bend region families. Everyday the Second Harvest Food Bank helps those in our community who are food insecure. For every dollar you donate, they turn that into four meals. That’s math that can help change lives.

We love our Mathletes! We love our community!
