Owner/Center Director

Dr. Majid Sabour, Owner

Hello, I am Majid. I am a Medical Doctor. I practiced Family Medicine in NY before I moved to California. I hold a Baccalaureate degree in Experimental Sciences, which emphasized Math and Physics. I did two years of Math, Physics, and Chemistry at the University Kadi Ayad in Marrakech, Morocco before I pursued my Medical education in Ukraine. I am a proud father of two shool-aged children who actually are Mathnasium Students. I am staunched proponent of education in general and Maths in particular. For a great education opens a world of opportunities.

Jake Morris-Knower, Co-Director

My name is Jake Morris-Knower. I grew up in Ithaca, NY, and graduated from Pomona College in 2014 with a Bachelor's in General Mathematics. While at Pomona, I worked as a math and writing tutor, and studied in Hungary at Budapest Semesters in Mathematics. My favorite instrument is the viola, my favorite sport is basketball, and my favorite food is ice cream.

Joshua Plottel, Co-Director

My name is Joshua Plottel. I graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in May of 2015 with a Masters in Physics. I specialized in astronomy and astrophysics, which are some of my passions. Another passion of mine is teaching, which I discovered during my time as a TA with the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth summer program in 2015. This led me to seek tutoring oportunities, particulary in the STEM fields, which led me to Mathnasium. I look forward to helping students understand mathematical concepts and learn to think in innovative ways.
