Our Team

Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Jerry, Center Director

Jerry graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a B.A. in Economics and California State University Fullerton with an M.B.A.  With over 10 years experience in tutoring, his passion is helping students learn mathematical concepts and become the best scholars they can be!  On his free time, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his daughter. 






Tracy, Assistant Director

Tracy graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a minor in Management. While pursuing her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in Massachusetts, she volunteered in an after-school program to work with at-risk children. She decided to change careers because she was more passionate about working with children and enjoyed her prior experience as a teacher’s aide teaching mathematics to elementary school students. Currently, she is pursuing her Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics at California State University, Long Beach. Her interests include reading, cooking, and watching movies.

Marcus, Assistant Director

Marcus joined the Mathnasium team in 2016 and currently resides in Irvine, CA. He graduated from University High School in 2015 and is currently majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Growing up, he has always enjoyed studying mathematics, as well as helping others learn. In his church in Stanton, Marcus is one of the music directors, serving as a piano accompanist and a choir conductor. In his free time, Marcus enjoys spending time with his friends, playing volleyball, and traveling. 



Kevin, Assistant Director

Kevin is currently attending University of California, Irvine in pursuit of his Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, where he can utilize his love for the environment and mathematics. He has enjoyed working with his classmates to understand new concepts and hopes to help more people overcome their difficulties. He has experience working as a summer school teaching assistant for middle schoolers back in his hometown of San Jose, CA. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys playing video games, tinkering with random projects, and cooking.


Jeff, Lead Instructor

Jeff is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. Growing up, math was always one of his favorite subjects and he would often find himself teaching his peers and helping them with their math education.  Pursuing a degree involving advanced mathematics has renewed his passion for math and since, being able to share his love of math at Mathnasium has become a highlight of his day.  In his free time, he enjoys solving puzzles like Sudoku, playing video games, watching movies and the occasional trip to the great outdoors.


Andre, Instructor

Andre is currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at UC Irvine. He loves teaching math to students because he loves when students experience the "light bulb" moment when they understand a topic that was difficult for them in the past. In his free time, Andre enjoys singing in his a capella group, watching movies with friends, and hanging out at the beach. 



Pretan, Instructor

Pretan is currently attending University of California, Irvine and pursuing a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Biomedical Engineering and specialization in Material Sciences.  He has always had a love for math and now wants to show how Math can be fun and enjoyable to others.  He has volunteered as a teacher’s assistant at a middle school and also tutored math and chemistry at the college level.  When he’s not studying or working on math, he likes music, dancing, hiking and playing video games.

Chris, Instructor

Chris is currently attending University of California, Irvine in pursuit of his Bachelor's Degree in both Mathematics with specialization in Finances and Quantitative Economics. Growing up, math was always one of his favorite subjects because he enjoyed assisting his fellow peers and overcoming difficult obstacles that challenged to expand his knowledge and critical thinking. He enjoyed teaching math to students because he believed that math was designed to be fun and enjoyable to learn. Being able to teach math gave him the confidence to push his limits and capabilities. During his free time, he plays golf, listens to music, and play his guitar during his jam sessions.


Farja, Instructor
Farja graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.A. in Psychology. Her passion for helping students understand math was developed throughout her school years of tutoring friends and classmates and seeing them develop confidence in their mathematical abilities. She is also passionate about giving back to the community and currently volunteers at a hospice with previous volunteer work at a youth shelter and women’s center. Additionally, she enjoys hiking, collecting postcards, cooking new recipes with friends, and watching reruns of The Office.

Erik, Instructor

Erik joined the Mathnasium team as an Instructor in late July 2017. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of California, Irvine. Originally from National City, CA, located in Southern San Diego County, he decided to take a large step out of his comfort zone and move out of his hometown to continue his educational pursuits. Math has always been a strong point and passion for him, from assisting his teachers at his high school as a Peer Tutor/ Teaching Assistant in Algebra and Intermediate Algebra to assisting his fellow class mates in college. In his free time, Erik enjoys playing baseball and volleyball, hanging out with friends and family, going out and eating at various restaurants, and bonfires and adventures at the beach.

Raghav, Instructor
Raghav is presently enrolled in Aerospace Engineering Degree Program at Irvine Vally College, California. He has always been passionate about mathematics. He started helping his friends in math right in grade 8, and soon after started tutoring. Raghav has always found Mathematics quite intriguing. His profound passion for math and daily practice made him sharp as a tack. Furthermore, he has certain experience in tutoring math as well as physics at college level. He knows what problems do students face dealing with mathematical concepts and he has a good hand at breaking it down to them in a way they would understand. In his free time Raghav enjoys playing basketball and weightlifting. Working on robots is another activity he enjoys doing.
