Summer with Mathnasium

Summer at Mathnasium keeps math skills strong.

The expression "use it or lose it" applies to math knowledge, too. On average, students lose 2.6 months of what they've learned in math class over summer break. Summer at Mathnasium is the answer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions to resolve basic outstanding concerns without speaking to someone.

  • How can I prepare for the next grade's math over the summer?

Building math skills during the summer can be fun, challenging, and rewarding. Doing just a few minutes of math daily can increase your retention and boost new skills to prepare for next year.

  • How do I know if my child needs summer math practice before the next school year begins?

Look at the final grade your child received in math class. Is it on par with their other grades, or is it lower? Also, does your child speak negatively about math? In either case, you may want to get them some extra summer math help.

  • What are some fun ways to practice math during summer break?

There are so many unexpected ways to have fun while doing math! Go shopping and compare prices, calculate sales and discounts, and add up costs for multiple items. Watch sports and keep stats on your favorite players or teams.

  • What happens during the initial assessment at Mathnasium?

We conduct both a verbal and written assessment to identify your child’s strengths and areas for improvement as well as to gain a true understanding of how each student approaches and thinks about math.

  • How are assessments different from tests given in school?

Our assessments are different from tests given in school because they are designed to identify your student's strengths and weaknesses in math so we can create a personalized learning plan that meets their unique needs and goals.
