Hello! I'm Amisha Patel, the Centre Director at Mathnasium of Somerset. I have a background in Hotel Management and have spent over 10 years in the hospitality industry, specializing in Sales & Marketing. Having struggled with math as a child, I am incredibly enthusiastic about helping every child in our community to truly understand math by teaching it in a way that makes sense to them. I am passionate about building children's confidence in their math.

At Mathnasium, my goal is to enhance your child’s math skills, understanding of math concepts, and overall school performance. We also focus on building confidence and helping families see measurable progress. Mathnasium offers the tools to help young learners improve critical math skills and understanding, regardless of their current ability level. We build on what they already know, which helps kids learn quickly and boosts their confidence right away. I am committed to bringing the Mathnasium Method to all the children in our community.

When I'm not at Mathnasium, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, watching movies, TV shows, cooking, and gardening.

Avinash Patel is the Centre Owner at Mathnasium of Somerset. Avinash has a bachelor's degree in Engineering and Master's in Business Administration. Currently, he works in the Finance Industry. He has enjoyed math since his childhood and is very passionate about it. Avinash also has experience in teaching math to engineering students and strongly believes that math is an essential part of everyday life and professional life. For Avinash, one of the reasons to choose Mathnasium was his belief in helping kids gain confidence by strengthening their fundamental math skills and by helping to develop their critical thinking and logical reasoning. Aside from Math, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, watching/playing cricket, and camping.

Hi, I’m Ashna! I am currently pursuing my post-graduate studies in Management and Leadership. At Mathnasium, I focus on creating a welcoming and organized environment to ensure our students and staff have everything they need to succeed. I’ve always had a love for math, and over the years, I have volunteered to teach math to students. Working with children is one of my greatest passions, and I truly believe that every student can excel in math with the right guidance and support. My experience helping students of all ages understand challenging concepts has taught me how important patience, encouragement, and tailored approaches are in teaching. At Mathnasium, I look forward to assisting children not only in developing their math skills but also in gaining the confidence to tackle problems they once found difficult. I’m excited to be part of their journey toward mastering math and helping them discover that learning math can be fun and rewarding!

Outside of work, I love exploring new places, spending time with friends and family, listening to music, and cooking. Being part of the Mathnasium community has been an amazing experience, and I’m excited to support our students in their math learning journey!

Hi, I'm Victoria! I am currently completing my bachelor's degree at the University of Calgary with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. In the future, I would like to pursue a master's (and maybe even a Ph.D.!) in math and eventually teach at the university level. I discovered my love for math after having some great math teachers in elementary school, and I know just how important it is to have passionate and knowledgeable instructors. This is why one of my main goals at Mathnasium is to share my passion for math with students and see them gain confidence in their abilities. One of my favourite things as an Instructor is to see a student finally understand something they were struggling with and say "Ohhh that makes so much more sense now!" Working at Mathnasium is extremely rewarding and I absolutely love the positive and welcoming environment here. I have been working with children for over 7 years and have taught French, physics and math to elementary-aged kids all the way to high schoolers in the past. Things I love besides math include sci-fi movies, drawing, listening to music and visiting Mexico:)

Hey! My name is Renu. I am pursuing a Post-Graduate Diploma in Data Analytics, Leadership, and Management from SAIT. Teaching is my passion, and I love helping students build confidence and excel in math. With a strong background in mathematics, I make learning engaging and approachable. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps, ensuring every student reaches their full potential. 

In my spare time, I love watching movies, going on hikes with friends, and playing badminton.

Hi, I’m Justin! I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Calgary, with a focus on robotics and sensor integration. I’ve always loved problem-solving, and I enjoy bringing that passion to my role as a math tutor at Mathnasium of Somerset.

Math and engineering go hand in hand, and I believe that understanding math is key to unlocking creativity and innovation. As an Instructor, my goal is to help students build confidence in their math skills, whether they’re working on algebra, geometry, or calculus. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a student finally “get” a concept they’ve been struggling with! When I’m not Instructing, I’m working on engineering projects or exploring new technologies in robotics. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, playing guitar and singing gospel music. 

Hi, I'm Sukhman! I’m currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in Software Development at SAIT, specializing in AI, machine learning, and development. I’ve always believed that math is the language of the universe—it gives us the power to predict outcomes and understand the world around us. My passion for math and tech drives me to share that excitement with others. For the past two years, I've had the pleasure of mentoring and tutoring kids through various school and co-curricular programs. I love working at Mathnasium because of the fun and engaging environment where students hone their math skills, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking. Nothing beats seeing a student light up when a concept finally clicks! 

Outside of Mathnasium, I enjoy cooking, watching anime, diving into research, and attending tech events. I’m thrilled to be a part of this community and can’t wait to help more students discover the joy of learning math and technology.
