We have an incredible A+ team of instructors helping kids throughout Round Rock, Hutto, and other nearby communities.
Larry Martinek, The Man Behind the Method
Larry has spent his entire career finding a better way to teach math. From inner city to public schools, to acclaimed magnet schools, to leading private and parochial schools, Larry has served as both a classroom teacher and as an educational consultant. He has designed curriculum, teaching strategies, and teaching materials designed to help students and teachers learn math more effectively. He has trained teachers in the art and science of boosting students' ability to “do” math, thereby increasing students' math scores and feeling of self-worth. Larry is the developer of Mathnasium’s educational program – one of the most comprehensive and innovative curriculas ever produced for teaching math.
While Larry is not an Instructor at our Center, he is a valuable asset we can call on to ask about specific students' scenarios for guidance and advice. This has helped to make visits more productive and enjoyable for many of our students.
Dr. Jennifer Faulkner, Owner/Center Director
Our family has lived in eastern Round Rock since 2002, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to help kids accelerate and strengthen their math skills in this great community in which we live! Our kids attend Round Rock ISD schools at Forest Creek Elementary, Ridgeview Middle School, and Cedar Ridge High School, so it allows us to greatly understand the scope, sequence, and application of the RRISD curriculum. Our goal is to provide every Mathlete with the benefit of "learner centric" customized math opportunities beginning in kindergarten. We make math make sense AND fun at Mathnasium of East Round Rock!
Greg Faulkner, Owner
Greg knows firsthand the importance of strong math schools as an engineer. He applies math, statistics, and problem everyday in his work. Greg graduated with a B.S. from the University of Illinois and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas. After graduating, he began working as a process engineer, and now as an Engineering Manager. Greg looks forward to assisting at the center and helping kids with higher levels of math as part of the tutoring program.

As a local Austinite, Riley is so excited to continue having a positive impact on the community through teaching!
Ms. Stella, Math Instructor
I am a retired public school teacher who taught for 40 years in the El Paso Independent School District. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Texas ar El Paso. I am the proud grandmother to twelve beautiful grandchildren. People would be surprised if they knew I used to run 10K races on a regular basis. I love dancing. My husband and I go country dancing every Friday night. I became a teacher because I love children and consider teaching the best job anyone could have. It is important for children to be proficient in math as it develops critical thinking skills that will be necessary throughout their lives. I try to to teach as I would like to be taught—with enthusiasm and patience as well as respect for the student.
Ms. Samantha, Math Instructor
Hi! I'm Samantha and am a high school student attending Cedar Ridge High School and am right now taking Pre-Cal. I love working with kids and have great experience from being a swim coach for ages 4-9 over the summer. I am also involved with many activities through my school such as the swimming and water polo team, debate, and HOSA. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Josiah, Math Instructor
Hi -- my name is Josiah Kiok. I’m currently a high school junior, though I’ve been taking mathematics courses at community colleges, including three semesters of Calculus. I also have experience competing in major math competitions like the AMC series, AIME, ARML, and HMMT. I enjoy helping others learn more about my favorite subject (shouldn’t be too hard to figure out), and sharing my passion for it with others. While I’m not tutoring or doing coursework, you can usually find me coding, playing board games, or playing old indie games.
