Q: What did you notice about your center/re the first time you came in?
Employee Answer: I was actually a student at Mathnasium long before I became an instructor. As a student, I remember being nervous walking in, but then it was bright and fun, and Kelly made me feel like everything was going to be ok. Kids were smiling! When I returned as an instructor, it felt like home. Kids were still smiling, joking with instructors and having fun with math.
Q: What is your favorite memory at your center/re?
Employee Answer: During our summer party, we have a dunk tank. All summer, the kiddos are motivated to complete more pages so they have more attempts to dunk an instructor. There is so much respect, camaraderie and fun between the students and the instructors. One distinct memory is difficult when there are so many fun aspects of my Mathnasium job.
Q: What’s your favorite part about your center/re?
Owner/CD Answer: My favorite part of owning a Mathnasium is seeing the transformation from "fear" and "stress" to "joy" and "relief" on both students and parents' faces when "math" is mentioned. We receive so many testimonials on how we are making a huge difference in their lives and opening so many opprtunities. I have always loved math. Having the opportunity to share my passion is a blessing!
Q: What time of year is the most fun at your center/re?
Employee Answer: Summertime is so fun at Mathnasium. This year, with the Summer 2024 Olympics, we are using an Olympic theme for awards. Students can win medals for the hustle, precision and spirit. When there is a specific goal, it is easier to motivate the students to do their work. We also do more math activities (games) in the summer when students are not concerned about completing their math homework.
