Dear Families,
We’re excited to welcome your student(s) to our Financial Literacy Workshops on Monday, May 27th 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
The workshop will begin promptly at 9:00 AM. We’ll have team members at the center by 8:15am for those who need to drop off kids before 9:00 AM. We’ll be happy to meet you at your car for a smooth drop-off. Likewise, if parking is difficult at pickup, we can safely bring your student to your car.
What to Expect:
Our Financial Literacy Workshop features Mathnasium’s exclusive curriculum. Through hands-on simulations and interactive, Mathnasium-designed activities, students will explore:
Money management and budgeting
Real-life financial decision-making
Team-based financial challenges
Students will work both individually and collaboratively, applying math skills to real-world financial scenarios in a fun, engaging environment.
We had an amazing response when we hosted these workshops over the summer, and the excitement is already building again! Our students always bring incredible energy and enthusiasm to these workshops.
Breakfast, Lunch & Water
Breakfast, lunch, and water will be provided. Filtered water is available on-site, and we recommend sending your child with a reusable water bottle.
If your student has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please send them with food/drinks. We take kids to the gourmet deli next door and/or the Halal food cart directly outside.
While the financial curriculum is tailored to each student, the overall workshop experience is highly social and collaborative.
Raffle:
We will have a fun raffle for all students. One lucky winner will go home with a notebook with a check balance sheet and inserts to save real money! All the best to all the kids!
Financial Literacy Workshop Levels
Mathnasium offers three levels of Financial Literacy instruction. Students who attend multiple workshops will continue where they left off next time. After completing all three levels, students advance to Financial Literacy Course, where they deepen their understanding of core financial concepts and real-world applications.
We’re thrilled to bring this enriching, hands-on learning experience to your student—combining real-world skills with plenty of fun and excitement!
Friendly Reminder for Behavior & Participation
Please remind your student that they will receive about one hour of direct instruction with an instructor, followed by small-team money-math activities with other students.
We expect all students to be respectful, cooperative, and ready to participate so everyone can have a positive learning experience.
If we have a student who will not sit down and disrupt the instruction for everyone else, that student will be asked to sit in the front by the door while we call the guardian.
We expect all guardians to talk to their child(ren) about this.
For any questions, the best way to reach us is by call or text at our usual number.
Warm regards,
The Mathnasium of Center City Team
