At Mathnasium of Center City, we love celebrating students who embrace learning, tackle new challenges, and continue to grow in confidence. This month, we're excited to recognize Alma as our Student of the Month!
Alma comes to Mathnasium with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. When asked what she enjoys most about math right now, her answer was simple and practical: "learning about money." Financial literacy is an important life skill, and it's exciting to see young students making connections between math and the real world.
Like many students, Alma wasn't quite sure what to expect when she first came to Mathnasium. Her first impression was that she felt "a little excited." We're happy that excitement has continued as she has become more comfortable in the center and developed new skills.
One of Alma's favorite areas of math is subtraction. Strong foundational skills are the building blocks for future success, and Alma continues to strengthen those skills every time she attends a session.
One challenge Alma is especially proud of overcoming is learning how to tell time. Telling time requires students to apply number sense, counting skills, and real-world thinking. Through practice and perseverance, Alma worked through this challenge and gained confidence in an important everyday skill.
When asked if she had a message for her caregivers about her experience at Mathnasium, Alma shared a heartfelt response:
"It was helpful."
Sometimes the simplest words say the most. Seeing students recognize their own growth and appreciate the support they receive is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
Alma's curiosity, positive attitude, and commitment to learning make her a wonderful example of what it means to be a Mathnasium student. We are proud of her accomplishments and look forward to seeing all the new skills she develops in the months ahead.
Congratulations, Alma, on being our Student of the Month! Keep up the amazing work—we're cheering you on every step of the way!
