At Mathnasium of Center City, we love celebrating students who demonstrate perseverance, growth, and a commitment to learning. This month, we're proud to recognize Tendayi as one of our students who has worked hard to strengthen her math skills and prepare for future success.
When asked about her goals, Tendayi shared that she is focused on building the skills needed to succeed in Algebra 2 next school year. She appreciates the support she receives from our instructional team and enjoy's having a convenient place to learn after school.
"My goal right now is to be able to get enough skills that will help me pass Algebra 2 this upcoming year. What I enjoy most about learning at Mathnasium is how helpful the instructors are."
Like many students, she wasn't sure what to expect when she first walked through our doors.
"At first I was a little nervous and I thought it was going to be boring. However, I always have a nice time here and doing my math."
We're glad Mathnasium quickly became a place where she could learn, grow, and feel comfortable tackling new challenges.
One of the most inspiring parts of Tendayi's story is the progress they've made in Algebra.
"I struggled with Algebra a lot in 8th grade. When I took it again in 9th grade, I got an A+ and I passed the final. Now, I am going to Accelerated Algebra 2 for 11th grade."
This achievement is a wonderful reminder that struggling with a concept today does not determine tomorrow's success. With hard work, determination, and the right support, students can make tremendous progress.
When asked if she had anything to say to her caregivers, her response was simple but meaningful:
"Thank you for signing me up. It has helped me a lot."
