Q: What is the first thing a brand new student does at your center?
A: Students start by checking on a tablet for attendance, find their binders, and take a seat at their assigned table. They begin by decorating their binder spine. The instructor will go over some expectations, and have the students begin work.
Q: What is the comprehensive assessment? How long does it take to finish?
A: The comprehensive assessment is a grade level assessment designed to determine the student's skills and ""holes"" in their learning. Once taken, a comprehensive learning plan is developed to enhance the student's skills while helping the student fill the gaps in their learning.
Q: How often should I bring my student to Mathnasium of Cherry Creek?
A: Students should come in at least twice a week for the most effective learning gains.
Q: Who are the people teaching my child?
A: We have a wide range of instructors. We have instructors who have spent many years in the regular classroom and have retired. We have instructors who are in college and possibly becoming a regular classroom teacher. We have instructors who are high school students who have excelled in Mathematics.
Q: When can I bring my child into Mathnasium of Cherry Creek?
A: We are open from 3 PM to 7PM every Monday through Thursday and from 1 PM to 4 PM on Sundays.
Q: How do you motivate your students at Mathnasium of Cherry Creek?
A: We have a very full reward cabinet consisting of candy, mystery bags, and other games, toys and prizes. Students find the mystery bags and candy very appealing. We have a brag board where students earn a ""nerd rope"" (candy) when they bring in an A+ paper from school. We have a student of the month where the student gets a certificate and trophy and gets to sit in an instructor chair for the month.
