Mathnasium of Converse: Building Confidence This School Year

Q1: What’s one way Mathnasium has made math feel easier for you this school year?

A: My teacher gave me a book from last year, so during homework time, I work with an instructor to do the introduction and if we have time, the guided practice from the book. It helps me to know what is happening in class ahead of time so I'm not so embarrassed to ask questions.

Q2: Can you share a moment when you felt proud of your progress at Mathnasium?

A: My proudest moment was when for the first time since I started getting grades in school, I passed this nine weeks! I've never, ever passed math...ever...until now. My mom and I had to keep looking at the grade to be sure we were right.

Q3: If a friend was struggling in math, what would you tell them about Mathnasium?

A: Oh, I tell all of my friends about Mathnasium. It has helped me understand fractions finally! I'm now the one who helps my friends in class instead of being the one who is waiting to get help. I've even taught my teacher how I learned to use 1/2 as a benchmark fraction and she thought that was a cool idea.
