Mathnasium of Midlothian's personalized geometry tutoring programs are designed to support students at every stage of their math journey.
We introduce middle school students to foundational concepts like angles, shapes, congruence, and basic measurement, building the spatial reasoning and logical thinking skills needed for high school geometry.
Our tutors guide students through core topics—triangles, circles, proofs, transformations, and the Pythagorean theorem—using personalized plans that make abstract concepts clear and build problem-solving confidence.
Honors students and competition participants can receive targeted support for challenging topics like advanced proofs, coordinate geometry, and complex problem-solving strategies that prepare them for college-level coursework and math competitions.
Our specially trained math tutors help students of all skill levels excel in geometry, whether they’re just starting with basic shapes and angle relationships or working through proofs and coordinate geometry.
We deliver personalized instruction in an engaging and fun group environment, guiding students step by step through the concepts they need to master and building their confidence in the subject.
At Mathnasium, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary and proven teaching approach based on personalized learning plans and interactive teaching techniques, designed to make even the most visual and abstract geometry concepts easy to understand.
We build upon what students already know, strengthening foundational skills and introducing geometry concepts gradually so they can truly understand and even enjoy the subject.
Each student begins with a diagnostic assessment to identify their current skill level, pinpoint knowledge gaps, and clarify their learning goals. Using these insights, we create a personalized learning plan that sets them on the best path to mastering geometry.
Our tutors follow each student’s personalized learning plan and use proven, interactive teaching techniques to help them build a deep understanding of key geometry concepts, including congruence, similarity, transformations, proofs, and coordinate geometry.

Whether your student is just starting geometry or working through high school-level material, we can help.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, an effective and proprietary teaching approach that starts with a diagnostic assessment to evaluate each student’s current skills and learning gaps.
Based on the insights from the assessment, we create a personalized learning plan that guides students through essential geometry topics.
Our tutors provide face-to-face instruction in a caring and fun group setting, using multiple learning strategies such as visual, verbal, tactile, and written to make complex ideas clear and approachable.
Yes. Many students begin their Mathnasium journey feeling confused or discouraged by geometry.
When students feel stuck in geometry, whether it’s remembering the properties of angles, making sense of proofs, or applying the Pythagorean theorem, we break challenging problems into manageable steps so they can understand the why and how behind each concept.
Our tutors are specially trained not only in math but also in the technical and emotional aspects of teaching. They know when to provide encouragement and when to challenge students to reach the next level.
Working with our tutors, students gradually fill knowledge gaps, strengthen their geometry foundation, and build the independence needed to confidently tackle assignments and tests that once felt overwhelming.
Definitely! We work with advanced learners who want to challenge themselves with honors-level material, prepare for math competitions, or strengthen higher-level geometry skills.
We also help students explore more advanced reasoning, coordinate proofs, and trigonometric concepts.
Yes, each session includes time for homework support.
Our tutors work alongside students to help them understand problem-solving strategies and build the skills to tackle similar homework independently in the future.
Absolutely. We can align our instruction with Virginia’s Standards of Learning (SOLs) and school curricula to prepare students for:
Classroom quizzes and unit tests
Semester exams
End-of-course geometry assessments
Standardized tests, including geometry sections on the PSAT®, SAT®, and ACT®
We also teach test-taking strategies that help students manage time and reduce anxiety.
Yes. Our students can attend live, face-to-face sessions online using our secure and easy-to-use digital platform. Online students receive the same level of support, interaction, and progress tracking as those who attend in person.
No, whether your student attends in person or online, they receive:
A personalized geometry learning plan
Face-to-face instruction from trained tutors
Real-time feedback and encouragement
Consistent support in a structured environment
The quality of instruction and student engagement are the same across both formats.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary and time-tested teaching approach designed to help students learn math, including geometry, in a way that makes sense to them.
We know students learn best when lessons match their learning preferences, so we use a blend of mental, verbal, visual, tactile, and written techniques to make concepts click.
The learning environment at Mathnasium is fun and engaging, often incorporating games and real-world examples. As a result, students not only learn and master the concepts they need but also transform how they think and feel about the subject.
We begin with a diagnostic assessment to identify your student’s current strengths and gaps in geometry.
Using assessment-based insights, our team develops a customized learning path, and our tutors adjust instruction in real time to ensure students are learning at the right pace and level.
Yes. Our tutors are familiar with the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs) and Chesterfield County school curricula.
We can align instruction to reinforce classroom learning, prepare students for SOL exams, and build skills that ensure long-term success in math.
We work with K–12 students, but most who come to us for geometry support are in grades 7–11.
Whether they’re just starting geometry or building skills in more advanced topics, our tutors provide the guidance they need to succeed.
Getting started is easy! Just schedule your free assessment, and we’ll evaluate your student’s skills and learning goals. Most students begin attending sessions within a few days of enrollment.
