Have you ever wondered what goes on inside Mathnasium of Mukilteo?

Jan 13, 2023 | Mukilteo

Today you’ll get a glimpse into the happenings of your local center as we follow students through their first experience at Mathnasium of Mukilteo.

Q: What is the first thing a brand new student does at your center?

A: Take the comprehensive assessment

Q: What is the comprehensive assessment? How long does it take to finish?

A: The comprehensive assessment includes a verbal checkup and a written checkup. It allows us to identify the students' strengths and weaknesses in their math ability so that we can build a customized learning plan that's specifically tailored to the student's learning needs. Many times we find students who have gaps from their previous years of math education and we are able to help them rebuild those skills and their confidence. There are high school students who came in finger counting or not knowing their multiplication tables, and we help cure those issues!

Q: How often should I bring my student to Mathnasium of Mukilteo?

A: We recommend students attending Mathnasium consistently 2 to 3 times a week for an average of 10 sessions a month.

Q: Who are the people teaching my child?

A: Our instructors all have a strong STEM background, which include university and college students studying Engineering, Computer Science, or Math and also exceptional high school students who participate at their school's Math Club.

Q: When can I bring my child into Mathnasium of Mukilteo?

A: Our instruction hours are Monday to Thursday from 3pm to 7pm and Friday from 2pm to 6pm. We offer flexible self-scheduling where one doesn't need to come at the same time on the same days week over week. Just schedule an available time/day that works for you.

Q: How do you motivate your students at Mathnasium of Mukilteo?

A: We motivate our students through different means. We have an awesome reward cabinet with enticing rewards. Students are welcome to let the Center Director know if they want something that's not already in the reward cabinet. We also have a BRAG board that celebrate students' outstanding math assignments/tests at school. We name a Student of the Month to celebrate students' exemplifactory attitude and work at the center.
