Q: What’s something you wish parents and students knew when they enroll at Mathnasium?
A: It takes time to reach their long-term math goals, but it's worth it! When I was a student at Mathnasium, my parents were consistent about my sessions. I actually enjoyed coming, and I started to feel so much better about math. Consistency and time are key ingredients to long-term math success.
Q: What’s something that surprises most students?
A: I love seeing kids get amazed by what their minds can do. They are capable of so much more than they realize, and it's cool to see them unlock new knowledge and connect it to things they already know in ways that makes their work easier for them. They're also surprised by the awesome prizes they can earn, just for doing some math.
Q: What’s something that surprises most parents?
A: Parents seem surprised that their kids start to enjoy math and WANT to come to Mathnasium! It's so cool to watch the kids get excited to come to the center. They're growing more confident in their skills and having fun while doing so; what's not to love?
Q: Any other insights?
A: I used to be a student at Mathnasium. I joined because I hated math -- now look at me! I'm a STEM major and instructing our students is one of the highlights of my day. Mathnasium changed my perspective on math and altered the trajectory of my career. I love this place, for so many reasons. It's fun to share that love with new generations of students as an instructor now.
