Mathnasium of Northwood's personalized geometry tutoring programs are designed to support students at every stage of their math journey.
We introduce middle school students to foundational concepts like angles, shapes, congruence, and basic measurement, building the spatial reasoning and logical thinking skills needed for high school geometry.
Our tutors guide students through core topics—triangles, circles, proofs, transformations, and the Pythagorean theorem—using personalized plans that make abstract concepts clear and build problem-solving confidence.
Honors students and competition participants can receive targeted support for challenging topics like advanced proofs, coordinate geometry, and complex problem-solving strategies that prepare them for college-level coursework and math competitions.
At Mathnasium of Northwood, our geometry tutors are specially trained in the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that helps student truly understand how math works.
We provide caring, face-to-face instruction and targeted support in a fun group environment. Our tutors work with students at every skill level, whether they’re just beginning to learn about angles and polygons or tackling advanced concepts like coordinate geometry, similarity, and proofs.
We teach geometry using the Mathnasium Method™, a proprietary teaching approach designed to promote math mastery, including a deep understanding of geometry.
By combining personalized learning plans with interactive teaching techniques, we help students not only grasp key geometry concepts but also enjoy the learning process.
We start each student’s journey with a diagnostic assessment to evaluate their skills and goals. Using the assessment-based insights, we create a personalized learning plan focused on the topics they need most, such as congruence, transformations, area and volume, or logic and proofs.
Once the learning plan is in place, our tutors provide targeted instruction, adapting to each student’s learning style to close any learning gaps, strengthen their geometry foundation, and build lasting confidence.

Euan
Lead Instructor
Euan graduated from UCSD with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics-Computer Science. Euan has always enjoyed pursuing math and began tutoring coding to children as a job during college. He now tutors Math and Computer Science and loves being able to share his knowledge with others to get younger students interested in these subjects. In his free time, he loves to play video games with friends, collect Hot Wheels and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, and watch TV or movies such as Star Wars with his partner and two cats.
Ryan
Instructor
Ryan is a computer science student and game designer. Ryan has been tutoring for 7 years in many subjects and he has 2 years of previous Mathnasium experience. We support students at all skill levels, from middle school through high school.
Yes! We help middle school students build strong foundations in geometry, covering topics like angle relationships, shapes, perimeter, area, transformations, and symmetry.
Our tutors guide students through each concept gradually, so they can develop solid foundations and a deep understanding of how geometry works.
Absolutely! We work with high school students on geometry topics such as proofs, coordinate geometry, trigonometry, and three-dimensional figures.
We tailor instruction to the student's course level, whether they’re in a standard, honors, or advanced class, to help them succeed.
Our approach to teaching starts with the Mathnasium Method™, which combines a diagnostic assessment with step-by-step, personalized instruction.
Once we’ve created a tailored plan, our tutors guide students through geometry topics using a mix of teaching techniques, from hands-on visuals to verbal explanations, making abstract ideas easier to understand and remember.
Yes! Many students come to us feeling stuck or frustrated by geometry. Our caring, specially trained tutors meet students where they are to clarify confusing topics and help them strengthen the foundational skills they need to feel confident moving forward.
We provide personalized instruction that builds both competence and motivation.
Definitely! We help advanced learners deepen their understanding, prepare for challenging coursework, and explore enrichment topics beyond their current class level.
This can include extended applications in coordinate geometry, trigonometry, and problem-solving strategies for competitive math events.
Yes. Each session includes time for homework support so students can ask questions, review challenging problems, and reinforce what they’ve learned in class.
