Q: How does your Center/re show festive spirit?

A: When it comes to the Holidays, we love getting into the spirit of the season at Mathnasium of Park City. We start with holiday-themed decorations throughout the season that bring a bright and cheery vibe. Then, we put a festive "spin" to our prize wheel by adding a Mystery Holiday Basket grab! Next, we add special seasonal treats in our prize cabinets such as flavored candy canes, mint chocolates, holiday Squishmallows, and more. Finally, our monthly Fun Calendar highlights lots of winter fun activities like hot chocolate day, green and red day, inside snowball fight day, and of course, cozy pajama day! One of our favorite ways to show our festive spirit revolves around our Reward Card Donation Box. Throughout the month of November and December, instead of turning in their Reward Cards for prizes, students add them to our Donation Box. At the end of the year, we count up the number of cards donated by our students and give a cash donation of equal amount to our local Charity of Choice for the year (Students and Staff nominate their favorite organizations and then vote on the final recipient). We love this activity not only because we are giving back to our local charities, but because this idea was suggested by one of our very own students!!!

Q: What’s your favorite holiday tradition?

A: There are so many great holiday traditions that our staff shared with us. Kouy enjoys kicking off the holiday season with celebrating Thanksgiving Day in NYC and then getting into the Christmas spirit with seeing the Rockettes, the Saks store window displays, and ice skating at Rockefeller Center. Marisa says her favorite holiday tradition is reading "A Christmas Carol" on Christmas Eve by the tree. Porter's family loves making lots of coffee cakes and then giving them to their friends. Meena said her family tradition is driving around their neighborhood and looking at all the festive decorations and lights.

Q: What does your family like to eat during the holidays?

A: The holidays are the perfect excuse for eating some delicious treats and our staff shared some of their favorites: Liam enjoys eating homemade mashed potatoes while Greta indulges in chocolate peppermint-cookies. Tess likes to eat freshly-baked Christmas cookies she makes with her sisters and Dena loves to always have homemade spinach dip around for entertaining, and a homemade lasagna in the fridge for when her family gets tired of the usual holiday food ;-)

From all of us here at Mathnasium of Park City, we wish everyone a joyful holiday season!
