A Year at Mathnasium of Park City!

Q: What was your favorite math-success memory of 2023?

A: One of our instructors, Liam (University of Utah) says his favorite Mathnasium memory of 2023 was working with a student about discounts and sales tax. "He was really struggling with the topic but worked through it, and felt confident by the end of his session. And he loved that it felt very applicable to real-world situations!"

Tess (Senior at Silver Summit Academy), another Mathnasium instructor, recalls her favorite memory of 2023 was helping a student receive an 'A' on their math final. "Originally, when the student came to Mathnasium, he was worried about the topics and testing in the class. By the end of the school year, he felt confident and aced his final exam!"

Finally, Greta (Sophmore at PCSS), a newer instructor, says her favorite memory of 2023 was being given the opportunity to help so many kids succeed in math. "One of the most fulfilling things to see is each kid's individual 'aha' moment, when they finally understand what they were struggling with!"

Q: Tell us about a student who really worked hard in 2023

A: For our Center Director, Marisa, two students stand out to her.

"Sophia is always ready to learn and work hard. She raised her math grade, and is determined to keep her grades up. She is just as focused on her homework as her Mathnasium pages. As for Leo, he has worked really hard and he always has a great attitude. He tested out of an entire grade level, and is now above grade level!"

Marisa is extremely proud of all the students' success stories she witnesses on a daily basis in the center.

Q: What have you noticed about your student’s math ability this year?

A: My daughter Elizabeth has had a huge improvement with confidence. She used to dread doing homework and now, she does homework right away...and happily! My son Henry was always confident but his speed has improved. He used to slowly do his homework and now, he rapidly gets through it. - Erin Barry (Mathnasium Parent)
