Almost everyone will agree, teaching is a very important job. It may be a total cliché to say teachers truly make a difference in the lives of others but there is no better way to describe why such a career is so rewarding.
Teachers are responsible for the mental growth of students since the first day of kindergarten and sometimes even earlier if a child is in pre-school. It seems like such a natural progression for kids to learn new information one year and move up a grade level each fall but the effort teachers put in to make sure their students gain that knowledge is remarkable. Of course there are topics and content taught at every grade that kids will remember just for a year or two and then completely disregard forever based on the information’s relevance to their lives however the level of social knowledge acquired in school is something in which teachers play a huge role and for which they are often not recognized.
Anyone who can remember a teacher they had five, ten, or even 20 years ago, or if you can recall a specific lesson or memory proves teachers have an impact on their students. The best teachers are the ones who created positive memories and who are really good at their job. They are the ones who really care about their students and work hard to help them become all they can be. A great teacher is able to inspire students, to encourage them, and to teach them about life. Though the influence of excellent teachers, young students will start to think for themselves and grow up to become the adults that they have been taught to be. Every teacher a child encounters while growing up has some effect on the path that child will take through life. It is important the path leads to a bright future.
The fact that an individual can have such a large impact on someone’s life is why a teacher’s job is so important. A teacher’s knowledge that their students are heading in a positive direction after leaving their classroom is what makes teaching the best career, and is one of the reasons why I have chosen this as my own career path.
