Mathnasium of Simi Hills' personalized algebra tutoring programs are designed to support students at every stage of their math journey.
We help students transition from concrete to abstract thinking, mastering integers, fractions, order of operations, and introductory variables while building the algebraic reasoning needed for Algebra 1.
Our caring tutors guide students through multi-step equations, linear functions, graphing, and word problems using personalized plans that turn this pivotal course into a confident foundation for future math success.
We support students with fast-paced, complex topics like factoring polynomials, quadratics, exponentials, and logarithms to build advanced problem-solving skills needed for Precalculus and college-prep coursework.
At Mathnasium of Simi Hills, our specially trained math tutors help students of all skill levels learn and master algebra. We support students in Prealgebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2, as well as topics like expressions, equations, functions, graphing, polynomials, and exponential relationships.
We provide personalized, face-to-face instruction in a caring and fun small-group environment. Our tutors use clear, everyday language, meet students where they are, and guide them step by step so algebra feels understandable and confidence-building.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed to help students truly understand how algebra works while strengthening critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Our tutors combine proven interactive techniques with personalized learning plans tailored to each student’s needs and learning style. This makes algebra clear, meaningful, and easier to apply both in class and in real-world situations.
Each student’s Mathnasium journey begins with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skills, knowledge gaps, and goals. We use these insights to create a personalized learning plan that focuses on exactly what each student needs, whether they need to catch up, keep up, or get ahead.
With the plan in place, our tutors deliver targeted, supportive instruction, adapting in real time to the student’s learning style. This approach helps students fill knowledge gaps, strengthen foundational skills, and build lasting confidence as they progress through algebra.

Specially Trained and Caring Team
Ella
Owner/Center Director
Ella's professional background began in linguistics before she transitioned into English law, where she practiced for several years. Her decision to open Mathnasium of Simi Hills grew from something personal: like many students, she had once steered away from math not because she lacked ability, but because she lacked encouragement.
That experience shapes everything she does at the center. Ella believes every child deserves the chance to build real confidence in math, and she is passionate about helping students keep their future options wide open.
Kristhy
Instructor
Kristhy is a freshman at Pierce College with a deep fascination for both the arts and mathematics. She sees the two as closely connected: both reward precision, creativity, and close attention to detail. That perspective shapes how she approaches teaching, helping students look at problems from new angles and arrive at understanding that actually sticks.
At Mathnasium, Kristhy enjoys working with students who are ready for a fresh way of seeing math, whether they are building foundational skills or working toward deeper comprehension.
Tigran
Instructor
Tigran is a freshman at California State University, Northridge, majoring in Applied Mathematics. He is passionate about math, coding, and breaking down how complex processes work step by step, skills that translate directly into helping students understand not just the answer, but the reasoning behind it.
At Mathnasium, Tigran brings enthusiasm and adaptability to every session, focused on helping each student build genuine confidence throughout their math journey.
Sarah
Assistant Director
Sarah holds a BA in Ethnomusicology from UCLA and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from CLU, and brings five years of classroom experience as a first-grade teacher in Moorpark Unified School District. She also instructs sessions at the center, making her one of the most hands-on members of the team.
Sarah has made it her personal mission to instill a love of math in students of all ages, and at Mathnasium of Simi Hills, she gets to do exactly that every day.
Whether they would like to attend sessions in-center or online, students can take 3 easy steps to enroll at Mathnasium.
All students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that pinpoints what they already know and the algebraic concepts they still need to learn.

At Mathnasium of Simi Hills, we use the Mathnasium Method™, a proprietary teaching approach built around personalized learning plans, proven techniques, and a deep understanding of how students develop mathematical thinking.
Rather than moving students through a predetermined sequence, we identify what each student knows, address foundational gaps, and introduce new algebra concepts in a way that builds true understanding rather than surface-level memorization.
Yes, students who are falling behind in class often have gaps in foundational skills that make new algebra concepts feel overwhelming. Our tutors are trained to identify and address those gaps systematically, rebuilding confidence alongside mastery.
We meet students where they are and guide them through challenging material step by step. Many students see meaningful improvement in their classroom performance after just a few weeks of working with us.
Yes! Mathnasium of Simi Hills works with students across the full spectrum, from those who need extra support to those who are excelling and want to go further.
We support students in honors and accelerated algebra courses, those preparing for higher-level math classes, and students building toward advanced coursework who want to make sure their algebra foundation is solid enough to handle the demands ahead.
We also help students sharpen the algebra skills tested on college entrance exams like the SAT®, PSAT®, and ACT®.
Yes, when needed, our tutors can provide homework support during sessions. Instead of simply providing answers, our tutors use homework as a chance to reinforce what a student is learning, walking through the reasoning behind each problem so they can handle similar ones independently next time.
Yes! Each student's personalized learning plan can align with California State Standards and classroom goals, giving them a solid grasp of the material before quizzes, unit tests, and final exams.
For standardized assessments that include algebra content, our tutors focus on closing knowledge gaps early, so test day feels like a chance to show what students already know rather than a scramble to catch up.
Yes! Students can join live, face-to-face online sessions with our Simi Valley tutors. Online sessions follow the same personalized learning plan and deliver the same attentive, real-time support as in-center instruction, so families can choose whichever format fits their schedule.
Yes. Our tutors understand California State Standards and the expectations of local schools in the Simi Valley area, like Valley View Middle School and Simi Valley High School.
