Q1: What’s one way your center makes summer learning fun and engaging for students??
A: Our center does Mathnasium bingo every summer! Each session, a student has the opportunity to fill out a spot on their bingo board by doing math and other fun activities in-center.
Q2: What’s a moment this summer that reminded you why you love working with students?
A: For me, every time a student has an "Aha!" moment, especially when something clicks that they were having a really hard time with. It reminds me why I love doing what I do and helping these students grow!
Q3: Why do you think summer is such a powerful time for students to build math skills?
A: Repetition is a great way to build skills. Your brain, just like a muscle, needs to be exercised consistently. Since so many students don't do much math during the summer, they don't get the "brain exercise" that keeps math skills sharp, and learning quick and fun. But, with continued practice through summer, math will stay feeling easier.
