Feb 15, 2025 | Spokane South

Q: How do you ensure foundational math concepts are effectively understood by younger students?

Instructor:
I make sure they show an understanding by asking questions about the different steps of the problem, not just the answer, and making sure they are not just following along with what I am saying.

Q: What long-term benefits have you observed in students who start building strong math skills early on?

Instructor:
Confidence! One of the most underrated things about learning math is how confidence helps us learn. We start teaching fractions early on at Mathnasium which especially helps kids feel confident with math later on when they are introduced to new math they might not know.

Q: How has learning math at Mathnasium made other subjects or activities easier for you?

Student:
Last year I felt behind, and now I feel caught up and ahead. It makes it easier at school and now, it is one of my favorite subjects!

Q: What math concept or skill are you most excited to learn because you think it will help you in the future?

Student:
Division! I think everything, because I want to be a wilderness fire-fighter and knowing math is important for this job. Also Algebra!

Q: How has Mathnasium helped your child feel more confident in their math skills and prepared for future challenges?

Parent:
We've come for a very long time, geared toward getting my daughter ahead, and Mathnasium has really helped with that!
