At Mathnasium of Tallahassee South, we know that consistent, ongoing math instruction is far more effective than last-minute cramming, and that's exactly how we approach exam readiness.
Every student begins with a diagnostic assessment that helps us understand their current skills and identify any gaps. From there, we create a personalized learning plan that builds math mastery progressively, session by session, so students are prepared well in advance of every test.
Our caring tutors support students across all K–12 math subjects, from elementary math through Precalculus and beyond, reinforcing classroom material, closing foundational gaps, and developing the problem-solving abilities that serve students on quizzes, midterms, and final exams throughout the school year.
When a significant exam is coming up, we can sharpen instruction around the specific topics it will cover so students arrive on test day feeling ready.
Mathnasium of Tallahassee South prepares students for the math portions of the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST).
We identify each student's knowledge gaps through a diagnostic assessment and build a personalized learning plan focused on the skills they need to meet and exceed grade-level expectations.
The earlier the better. FAST measures math understanding accumulated over the course of the school year, which means students who receive consistent support from the start are in a much stronger position come test time than those who begin preparing at the last minute.
We recommend starting at the beginning of the school year or semester so we have ample time to address gaps, build foundational skills, and track steady progress toward grade-level mastery.
If the exam is already approaching, don't hesitate to reach out. We'll put together a focused plan based on what your student needs and the time available.
Yes, Mathnasium of Tallahassee South prepares high school students for the math sections of the SAT®, PSAT®, and ACT®.
Our caring tutors use proprietary test prep materials and personalized learning plans to build the content knowledge and problem-solving strategies students need to perform their best on test day.
Whether your student is taking the exam for the first time or working to improve a prior score, we tailor preparation to their current skill level and goals.
We recommend beginning preparation at least three to six months before the exam.
These assessments cover a broad range of math content, from algebra and data analysis to geometry and, on the ACT®, trigonometry. A longer runway gives students the opportunity to work through gaps at a manageable pace, build familiarity with exam-style problems, and develop the kind of confidence that only comes from thorough preparation.
For families in Tallahassee with FSU admission in mind, strong SAT® and ACT® math scores can make a real difference and we know how to help students get there.
Students who have significant gaps in foundational math skills benefit most from starting the process in middle school or early high school, before formal test prep is even on the horizon.
If the exam is closer than you'd like, get in touch and we'll build a plan that makes the most of the time your student has.
Math test prep at Mathnasium of Tallahassee South is offered as part of a flat monthly membership fee. The cost depends on your student's individual learning plan and session schedule.
For specific pricing information, please contact our center at (850) 988-5549 or [email protected]. We're happy to walk you through the options and find a plan that works for your student and your family.
Mathnasium of Tallahassee South is an approved provider for the Step Up for Students FES-UA and New Worlds scholarship programs. If your family participates in either program, please contact us to learn how your scholarship funds can be applied toward your child's Mathnasium membership.
That depends on your student's current skill level, which exam they're preparing for, and how much time is left before test day.
As a general guide, students preparing for the SAT®, PSAT®, or ACT® typically attend two sessions per week over a period of three to six months. For the FAST assessment or classroom exams, the timeline may be shorter depending on the student's starting point and what they need to work on.
Once we've completed the diagnostic assessment, we'll have everything we need to recommend a session schedule that gives your student the best possible chance of success.
Yes, students can attend live, face-to-face online sessions with our caring Tallahassee South tutors and follow the same personalized learning plan as they would in the center. Whether students learn in person or online, the quality of instruction and individual attention remains the same.
Both formats provide the same personalized learning plan and live, face-to-face instruction from our caring tutors. Many families find that a combination of in-center and online sessions works well, giving them the flexibility to stay consistent even when schedules get busy around exam time.
Yes, our tutors have a thorough understanding of Florida's B.E.S.T. Mathematics Standards and are familiar with the expectations of Leon County Schools and schools throughout the Tallahassee area.
Where applicable, we align personalized learning plans with state standards and local school goals to support both everyday classroom performance and preparation for assessments like FAST, the SAT®, and beyond.
