Fernan joined our Mathnasium team in 2013 and has a degree from San Jose State University in Design Studies with a minor in Computer Science. Fernan had previously tutored students in other math tutoring programs; however, at Mathnasium, she has come to appreciate the Mathnasium teaching strategies used to explain math and help students of all levels succeed. Fernan's approach to instructing is specific to the student. Understanding him or her guides her to utilize the most appropriate teaching approach. It comes naturally to her to connect with others emotionally and to bring enthusiasm and passion to her work. As a result, almost every one of of her students and their parents have verbally expressed that they enjoy working with her. She enjoys interacting with colleagues and always seeks to improve her knowledge base and skill sets. Fernan has now taken on the role of an Assistant Center Director and has been very helpful with our Willow Glen location, as we grow this center.
Glynda Myer
General Manager
Glynda Myer graduated from University of California Santa Cruz, with a degree in Math education. Through this training she spent time in the classroom environment, teaching lessons as well as discussing different teaching strategies with teachers. Glynda has been working for Mathnasium of Campbell-Los Gatos for over 10 years, working with students at all levels. She strives to not only explain how to do a problem, but to teach "why" based on each student's prior knowledge. Through her time here she has seen what a difference we make on every student who we work with. In her new role as General Manager, Glynda leads and supports the teams at Campbell-Los Gatos, Mountain View-Los Altos as well as our Willow Glen Centers.
Desiree Barroga
Asst. Center Manager
Desiree started as an instructor in 2020 and has become Assistant Center Manager. She graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Forensic Science concentration in Chemistry. She enjoys working with the children and is glad to see their progress every time they come in for their sessions. She wants to make sure she builds a connection with the students to have a better understanding of their foundational skills of math. Math has been one of her favorite subjects growing up and she hopes she continues inspiring others to expand their knowledge.
Suzanne Stitt
Asst. Center Manager
Suzanne graduated from University of California Davis with a bachelor’s of arts in Statistics. Having always enjoyed math from an early age, she quickly fell in love teaching it while working at Mathnasium. She works to help kids of all ages enjoy math and problem solving as much as she does! Suzanne is always doing what she can to help students understand not only how to do math, but why it is fun and why it matters.
