Pros And Cons To Online Education

Oct 4, 2021 | Langley BC

Parents all over the world have experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly of online education. Some families adapted easily and loved the flexibility that online education offers. Others families felt swept up in confusion and missed the familiar structure of in-person school.

According to an article published by the University of Illinois, "The online environment offers unprecedented opportunities for people who would otherwise have limited access to education, as well as, a new paradigm for educators in which dynamic courses of the highest quality can be developed." No one can argue against the convenience of learning anywhere. Literally anywhere.

However, there are a plethora of subjects that are much more difficult being taught online. What about the hands-on classes, like physical education, cooking and sewing in family and consumer science, or any music class that uses an instrument? Those types of classes really get the short end of the stick. Other problems include lack of sufficient technology, lack of adequate computer literacy, and students feeling isolated from their peers.

At Mathnasium of Langley BC, we are happy to offer the solution. Clients can choose what works best for their family: in-person tutoring or virtual tutoring.
