Feb 14, 2023 | Cherry Hills

Glad you asked! Let’s take a sneak peak inside your local Mathnasium of Cherry Hills and ask their instructors!

Q: What helps students in your center stay motivated?

A: We have some awesome rewards that our students can earn! On top of that, our instructors are great at keeping students engaged and excited.

Q: Tell us about the reward cabinet!

A: We have several ""levels"" of rewards. If students are wanting the instant gratification, smaller things, we have all sorts of candy, small stuffies, and do-dads for them to get. We also have bigger rewards that students can save up to earn. Those range from Nerf guns, to all different sizes of Squishmallows or stuffed animals, to science kits, to speakers or cool lighting tech. Students can also save up to get gift cards to their favorite places!

Q: How do students earn prizes from the reward cabinet?

A: We have punch cards that are filled out as students do work. Those are essentially our Mathnasium Currency. One card= One dollar! On top of work, we do fun themed days or random activities that students can participate in to get extra punches!

Q: How does your center celebrate student success?

A: We pick a student of the month every month and love celebrating their successes and accomplishments. We let kids get extra reward for awesome work in school as well!

Q: What is your favorite student success story?

A: My favorite success story is about a student named Geddy. He started as a sophomore in high school and was woefully behind. He was going to do Algebra 2/Trig and his basic algebra was VERY rusty. He spent the whole summer with us and we got him up to being prepared for his class. Then he spent his full sophomore year with us and by the time the summer started, he was ahead and he was applying for a position with us an instructor. Not only did I hire Geddy, but he became EVERYONE's favorite instructor. He went on to take IB Calculus his Junior year AP Stats his senior year. Now he is in college and studying to become a child psychologist because he discovered his passion for working with children while working here!
