Q: What is a comprehensive assessment?
A: Our comprehensive assessment is given to prospective students and currently-enrolled students to evaluate their skills and learning gaps. For new students, a customized learning plan is created from the assessment, and for current students, it is used to evaluate learning and to assess the next level.
Q: What things do you learn about a student when they take a comprehensive assessment?
A: Students' learning gaps, strengths and weaknesses are identified, and the learning plan is created from this information.
Q: What is a customized learning plan?
A: Each student has a learning plan made exclusively for their needs, and is used to identify their strengths, weaknesses and learning gaps. It will reinforce current skills while allowing them practice to master other skills identified in the assessment.
Q: How do you gauge progress?
A: Each topic of work (PK) has a mastery check where we evaluate progress. We also give a partial assessment after nine PKs to evaluate progress, and remove skills mastered or reassign skills that have not been mastered. A comprehensive assessment is given at the end of the learning plan to evaluate progress.
