The Story of Your Local Mathnasium - Converse

1. When was your center/re’s grand opening??

A: Our center opened in September of 2018. It was a picture perfect day and our community showed up in a BIG way for our ribbon cutting.

2. Of all your employees, who has been with you the longest?

A: John has been with us almost three years which is the longest of any of our instructors. He took a brief break to finish college and came back to work as an assistant center director in January. The kids and staff love him because he sees you! He notices when you walk in the door, when there is an unasked question, when you are saying you understand but really don't. He can explain any concept easily! He remembers birthdays, concerts, fights with friends and can strike up a conversation with anyone.

3. Who is the owner/director of your center?

A: Michelle is the center director. She spent 24 years in the classroom and quit teaching to open this Mathnasium. It brings her great joy to be able to figure out exactly where a student is at and move as slowly or quickly as the student needs.

4. What local schools does your center serve?

A: Oh, we serve so many schools. Here are some nearby: Judson Middle and High School, JSTEM, Copperfield Elementary, Elolf STEAM Academy, IDEA Converse, Great Heart Live Oak, St. Monica Catholic School, Royal Ridge Elementary, Hartman Elementary, LaVernia Elementary...

5. What are parents saying about your center?

A: "We are very happy with Mathnasium. My son started to struggle with Math during COVID and it was beginning to affect his confidence. He didn’t like Math anymore and found it so difficult. Mathnasium was one of the best things we could have done for him. He is now making great grades again in Math at school and he does not worry about Math homework anymore. It just gets done! I will say, you need to give it time and allow at least a year (it’s not in my opinion a few months fix) because they have to go back to where your child’s level is at. My son had to go back two grade levels but I can tell you it was worth the drive to get there (we come from Saint Hedwig) and the money. My son enjoys the atmosphere and of course, the reward system is a real incentive for the kids... The instructors are great, they are so patient and they seem to have the ability to make Math fun. The owner is very accommodating and hands-on. I would highly recommend!"
