Each student's Mathnasium journey begins with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skills, learning gaps, and goals. Using these insights, we create a personalized learning plan that focuses on exactly what each student needs, whether they need to catch up, keep up, or get ahead.
With the plan in place, our tutors deliver targeted, supportive instruction, adapting in real time to the student's learning style. This approach helps students fill knowledge gaps, strengthen foundational skills, and build lasting confidence as they progress through algebra.

Center Director
I’ve taken all sorts of math classes. Everything from Algebra 1 up to Linear Algebra. I have lots of hobbies outside of work. I love to read, do puzzles, watch football, sing, act and paint. My favorite though is Dance! I have been dancing since I was young and have never stopped. I’ve been teaching and choreographing dance since high school and was president of a dance club in college. I worked as a lead instructor at Mathnasium in college and absolutely loved it! I’ve also been a teacher’s assistant for high school summer camps and for college engineering courses.
Fun Fact: My fun fact is that I have dimples but they are on my ear lobes instead of my cheeks!
Favorite Number, Why?: My favorite is 8 because with you turn it on its side it becomes infinity.
Education: I went to school at CU Boulder where I got my Bachelor’s of Science in Aerospace Engineering, and I graduated in 2024. I also have an Associates degree which I got concurrently with my high school diploma in 2020.
Why I Like Mathnasium: I just love being around kids!! They have the best stories and always brighten a somber day. I love watching a child’s eyes light up when they finally understand a concept, and I love Mathnasium’s approach to math, by making it accessible to everyone.
Liz Olsen
Regional Director
Liz has been with Mathnasium for five years, starting as a Center Director and now serving as a Regional Director. She is passionate about creating fun, welcoming learning environments where students feel excited to learn math and build confidence through personalized instruction. Liz has spent most of her life working with children through math instruction, sports coaching, swim lessons, and summer camps.
Liz believes success in math starts with confidence and perseverance, and she loves watching students grow from feeling discouraged to believing in themselves. Outside of Mathnasium, Liz enjoys cheering on the Utah Utes, watching sports, spending time with her husband and daughter, reading, skiing, snowboarding, and golfing.
Parker H.
Assistant Center Director
Parker grew up in Colorado with a deep love for math and a fascination with how formulas and methods connect to real life. He believes math only matters if you can apply it—a perspective he shares with students every day at Mathnasium. His favorite number is e, because it’s the only function that is its own derivative and integral.
Outside of Mathnasium, Parker enjoys working with computers, listening to music, and diving into a good story. Fun fact: he can raise either of his eyebrows independently!

I have taken AP Calc AB in high school and Calculus 2 in college. In high school, I was AP Scholar with Distinction and graduated with highest honors. I have gotten the distinction of Hornbeck Scholar in college. I enjoy journalism and volunteering.
Fun Fact: I enjoy ice skating.
Favorite Number: My favorite number is infinity because it represents a really interesting concept of numbers continuously becoming bigger and smaller beyond our imaginations.
Education: I am a junior at the University of Denver.
Why I love Mathnasium: I like working at Mathnasium because I enjoy seeing students grow in their confidence and abilities in math.

I've taken everything up to Calculus 1, and I'm currently taking Intro to Statistics. I've published a book, "Jake's Door," which has become an Amazon Bestseller. I've also been a member of a few groups in high school, including: Out knowledge bowl team; we won an award at a regional competition, chess club, and The school's gifted and talented group. I'm a volunteer for Hope Worldwide to help people in need, like serving the homeless and I'm an active member of my church ministry, where I volunteer with A/V equipment. I love art, mainly drawing on pencil and paper. I've filled up nine sketchbooks over my life and the tenth one's almost full! It's my creative outlet, I love making characters, worlds, and stories. I especially like drawing comic strips; writing humor and jokes is very fun for me. Recently, I've been branching out into digital art and animation, it's been very fun. I like walking and spending time outdoors, especially when I've got a good song on. I like to go on hikes/bike rides, see beautiful views, and catch a nice breeze. I'm also very fond of logic puzzles; I enjoy that sort of problem solving, and getting that "a-HA!" moment when you solve them is super fun.
Fun Fact: If I have to pick one fact, I'd choose publishing "Jake's Door," that's an accomplishment I'm very proud of. The book made over $10k, and I made it when I was only 14 years old!
Education: I graduated from high school at Colorado Early Colleges last year with an associate's degree. I'm currently a junior in college at CU Denver, and I'm hoping to major in computer science.
Favorite Number, Why: Gonna have to go with 1 here. You see a 1 in a math problem, you know it's gonna be easy. That you'll be safe. Everything's gonna be alright.
Why I love Mathnasium: I love to help people, I love math, and I've been told that I'm very good at explaining complicated things to people, so I believe math tutoring would be a great job for me. It's what I love doing, but as a job!
Nithya P.

I have taken all math levels through Honors Trig/Precalculus, and will be taking AP Calculus BC this year. I am an active member in school clubs like HOSA, TSA, and Speech and Debate. I also love to play tennis and volunteer with school clubs like Key Club. I have experience volunteering with younger kids at libraries and also at my local middle school to help prepare them for the yearly MATHCOUNTS competitions. I love to do anything creative, like drawing and painting. I also love being outdoors, going on hikes, and playing tennis with my friends and family.
Fun Fact: I love to film and edit videos!
Favorite Number, Why?: My favorite number is 4 because it's lucky- like a four-leafed clover.
Education: I am a rising Junior at Rock Canyon High School, and I hope to major in something science or math-related in college.
Why I like Mathnasium: I like working at Mathnasium because I get to share my love for math with kids. Mathnasium is a great environment that makes learning fun and rewarding rather than tedious work. I get to teach kids that complicated problems are simply fun puzzles they get to solve!
