At Mathnasium of Lake Nona, we focus on building true math understanding, test-taking skills, and confidence to prepare students for tests and long-term math success.
Every student starts their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that reveals their current skill level and any knowledge gaps. From there, we create a personalized learning plan that builds math mastery consistently, session by session, so students are never starting from scratch before a big test.
Our specially trained tutors work with students across all K–12 math courses, from elementary math through Precalculus and beyond, reinforcing classroom concepts, closing foundational gaps, and developing the problem-solving skills that translate directly to better results on quizzes, midterms, and final exams.
When a major exam is on the horizon, we can align instruction with the specific topics it will cover so students walk in feeling fully prepared.
Yes! Mathnasium of Lake Nona prepares students for the math portions of the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST).
Our tutors can align instruction with Florida's B.E.S.T. (Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking) Mathematics Standards to ensure students have a solid grasp of the grade-level concepts they'll encounter on the exam. We identify each student's gaps through a diagnostic assessment and build a personalized learning plan targeting the skills they need to meet and exceed grade-level expectations.
The sooner, the better. The FAST assessment measures cumulative math understanding built throughout the school year, so students benefit most from consistent, ongoing support rather than last-minute review.
Ideally, students should begin working with us at the start of the school year or semester. That gives us time to address gaps, strengthen foundational skills, and ensure steady progress toward grade-level mastery well before test day.
If your student is already closer to the exam, don't worry; we can still make a meaningful difference. Contact us and we'll put together a focused plan based on the time available.
Mathnasium of Lake Nona prepares high school students for the math sections of the SAT®, PSAT®, and ACT®. Our specially trained tutors use proprietary test prep materials and personalized learning plans to build the content knowledge and problem-solving strategies students need to perform their best on test day.
Lake Nona's Medical City community is known for its high academic standards and we love working with students who are ready to push themselves. Whether your student is sitting for the exam for the first time, aiming to raise their score, or targeting admission to a competitive university, we tailor preparation to where they are and where they want to go.
We recommend starting at least three to six months before the exam date, and earlier is always an advantage.
College admissions math tests cover a broad range of topics, from algebra and data analysis to geometry and, on the ACT®, trigonometry. Starting early gives students time to identify and close knowledge gaps, build fluency with exam-style problems, and develop the confidence that comes from sustained, focused preparation.
For students with significant gaps in foundational math skills, beginning in middle school or early high school provides the strongest possible foundation heading into test prep.
If your student's exam is coming up sooner, reach out and we'll build a focused plan around the time they have.
Math test prep at Mathnasium of Lake Nona is offered as part of a flat monthly membership fee. Pricing varies depending on your student's individual plan and session schedule.
For specific pricing details, please contact our center directly at (407) 243-6284 or [email protected]. We're happy to walk you through the options and find a plan that fits your student's goals and your family's needs.
The number of sessions depends on your student's current skill level, the exam they're working toward, and how much time remains before test day.
As a general guide, most students preparing for a major exam like the SAT®, PSAT®, or ACT® attend two sessions per week over three to six months. For state assessments like FAST or classroom exams, the timeline may be shorter depending on the student's starting point and goals.
After the diagnostic assessment, we'll have a clear picture of what your student needs and can recommend a session schedule that gives them the best chance of success.
Students can join live, face-to-face online sessions with our specially trained tutors and follow the same personalized learning plan as they would in the center. Online instruction delivers the same level of real-time, caring support as in-person sessions.
Both formats deliver the same personalized learning plan, face-to-face instruction, and caring guidance from our tutors. Many families find that a mix of in-center and online sessions works well, offering added flexibility around busy schedules and upcoming exam timelines.
Yes. Our tutors are well-versed in Florida's B.E.S.T. Mathematics Standards and understand the expectations of schools serving the Lake Nona community.
