Q: What is the first thing a new student would do upon entering Mathnasium?
A: The first thing a new student would do upon entering Mathnasium is getting their specific binder with their specific concepts, checking-in, sitting with their instructor and beginning to work on mastering their concepts, while also earning stamps to save up to get prizes from the rewards cabinet. A: The first session for new students begin with a tour of the center, showing them where their individual binder is, and introducing them to their instructor. Students will work on their specific concepts (determined from their prior complimentary assessment) and also, will have time to work on their math homework from school.
Q: Have you seen a student’s attitude towards math change?
A: Absolutely! I remember one of our middle school students came in disliking math and did not want to do any work. But after their first couple sessions, they said they loved math and they worked at such a good pace that they completed mastering two concepts within their first two weeks!
Q: What do you wish students and parents knew before they brought their student to your center?
A: That it takes time to build confidence, and investing time is important to filling in any gaps to make sure they have their grade level concepts mastered.
