Barry Weiss Lorye Weiss

Barry Weiss

Director of Operations and Marketing

Barry is a former Mathnasium Franchise Advisory Council Member. He is co-owner of the center with his wife Lorye. Before joining Mathnasium, Barry was a Senior Vice President at Sony and is a current Member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In both endeavors, he created new curriculum and learning models for the Film Industry. Formally shifting to academia, Barry recently published the well reviewed college textbook "Filmmaking in Action". In his philanthropic work Barry served as President of the Board of Director's of one of Los Angeles most prestigious K-8 private schools. He has his Bachelors Degree from Northwestern University School of Communications and his Masters Degree from USC School of Cinematic Arts.

Lorye Weiss

Director of Parent and Student Relations

Lorye is MASTER CERTIFIED by Mathnasium. She is Co-Owner of the Center with her husband Barry. At the Center, Lorye specializes in teaching our "Great Foundations" program and is our "Ninja Master Marketer". She is an accomplished and published chef and the mother of four boys (all of whom had the privilege of being tutored by Larry Martinek, before he created the highly successful Mathnasium system). She began her professional career as a preschool teacher and is a graduate of UCLA Lorye is a Sherman Oaks native, growing up and educated in Sherman Oaks where she still lives!

How Much does Mathnasium Cost?

The cost of a program for your child's is best determined after we see the results of your child(rens) Assessment and review their personalized and detailed learning plan.
Does Mathnasium cost more than a Private Tutor? Is there a difference?

Generally no.

Our instructors create unique experiences for your child(ren) to promote their love of Math and build up their self-confidence.

A private tutor does not have Access to 20,00 pages of proprietary curriculum, created aby Mathmeticians with classroom Experience.

Create a schedule that best fits YOUR schedule!

Our instructors go through rigorous training in the MATHNASIUM METHOD and are all Background Checked before being offered employment.

We give our instructors ongoing training during their employment with us!
Do I sign a contract with Mathnasium of Sherman Oaks and if so, for how long?

Generally Yes. We will review our contract term options with you when we review your child(rens) Learning Plan.
My child is catching up to their current grade level. How to they succeed at the grade level they are actually in?

Our goal is ensure success for your child(ren) both as they fill in the gaps they may have in previous learning.

At the same time WE HELP THEM WITH THEIR HOMEWORK!
Based on their homework we may be able to add additional to their learning plan to create success in their current grade.

Most importantly, with your permission, we will be in contact with their current school teacher to share knowledge of what we are teching at Mathnasium and what they are doing in class.
