Mathnasium of South Elgin's personalized geometry tutoring programs are designed to support students at every stage of their math journey.
We introduce middle school students to foundational concepts like angles, shapes, congruence, and basic measurement, building the spatial reasoning and logical thinking skills needed for high school geometry.
Our tutors guide students through core topics—triangles, circles, proofs, transformations, and the Pythagorean theorem—using personalized plans that make abstract concepts clear and build problem-solving confidence.
Honors students and competition participants can receive targeted support for challenging topics like advanced proofs, coordinate geometry, and complex problem-solving strategies that prepare them for college-level coursework and math competitions.
At Mathnasium of South Elgin, our specially trained math tutors help students build confidence and succeed in geometry through personalized, face-to-face instruction.
Whether your student is just starting with basic shapes and angles or tackling coordinate geometry and formal proofs, our team supports learners at every stage.
We teach geometry using the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that makes geometry clear and approachable.
Our approach combines personalized learning plans with real-time, face-to-face guidance in a fun small-group environment, helping students improve their problem-solving skills and deepen their understanding of spatial relationships and logic.
Each student begins with a diagnostic assessment so we can identify strengths, knowledge gaps, and goals.
Using the assessment-based insights, we create a personalized learning plan that builds geometry skills step by step. Our tutors focus on the topics each student needs help with, from congruence to similarity, the Pythagorean Theorem, transformations, and coordinate geometry, ensuring mastery at each level.

Each student begins with a diagnostic assessment, allowing us to create a personalized learning plan based on their learning style, needs, and goals.
Our tutors then provide face-to-face instruction in a caring and fun small-group environment, breaking down each concept into manageable steps using a mix of visual, verbal, written, and hands-on teaching techniques.
Absolutely! Our tutors work with students who feel stuck or discouraged in their geometry class every day.
We provide caring guidance, break down complex ideas into understandable steps, and help rebuild confidence by progressing at the student’s pace.
We love working with advanced learners. Through carefully designed enrichment programs, we help advanced learners who want to go beyond what they learn in school, get ready for math competitions, or do well in advanced-level classes.
We usually work with them on complicated proofs, show them ways to solve problems in more than one step, and how to use geometry concepts in the real world to keep them engaged and motivated.
Yes. There is time for homework help in every session.
Our tutors make sure students understand the material, not just get the answers. This way, they reinforce what they’re learning in school and can confidently solve similar problems on their own.

Tests and quizzes in the classroom
Last tests
Benchmark tests
Questions about geometry on the PSAT®, SAT®, and state tests
We also help students get ready for tests at local schools in Districts 102, 96, and 214, such as Stevenson High School, South Elgin High School, Twin Groves Middle School, and others.
