As programmes and costs vary by location, it's best to contact your local Mathnasium centre for the most accurate answers.
Contact your local Mathnasium Learning Centre with any questions have about our programmes. Here are some of the more common ones we get:
We conduct an in-depth assessment for every child before they enrol and the outcome will enable us to understand where your child is mathematically, the programme that’s relevant for them and this then determines the cost. Pricing varies by programme and location. Contact your local centre for more details on enrolment packages.
We can help all the way through to GCSE, including whatever tests come up in that time. Test Prep is a specific learning goal that’s addressed through individualised targeting of gaps in foundational knowledge, careful analysis of errors to provide the right materials at the right time and improved computational fluency to improve both competence and accuracy in test taking. Improvements in number sense and problem-solving are addressed as students learn to apply what they know out of context, recognising why numbers are being used and developing their reasoning capability.
Unlike a maths class, Mathnasium teaches to the individual. Each child is given a comprehensive assessment that pinpoints their exact strengths and weaknesses and a customised learning plan based on their specific learning goals. Our expert instructors provide face-to-face instruction at the right pace for each child.
Both. If a student is struggling, Mathnasium will address their learning gaps so they can catch up and get ahead. For students who already excel in maths, the instructors will work with them to expand their maths skills and help them achieve their greatest potential. And if your student is "doing OK" when you know they could do much better, we can engage and motivate your child to reach new heights.
We work with children in Reception up to Year 11. Our main programme caters for students from Year 1 though to their GCSE exams.
Children who consistently attend our learning centres enjoy a transformative learning experience and make huge strides in the classroom. Multiple independent studies have found Mathnasium to improve student performance on standards-based tests in 20 sessions or fewer.*
We recommend 2-3 times a week until learning goals are met and parents are satisfied with what their child has accomplished.
We're expanding rapidly across the UK, so use the 'find a centre' button to find the closest location to you.
We realise that with busy family schedules, sometimes it can be hard getting your child to the centre twice a week. That's why we offer flexible scheduling as well as our online option—Mathnasium@home—to make it easier to attend weekly sessions. If your child is still unable to attend, they won't miss anything because we work at their pace and will simply meet them where they are at during their next session.
Our mission is to teach children maths so that they understand it, master it and love it. We use careful assessment to meet a child exactly where they are at and teach maths in a way that makes sense to them.
No. All learning occurs under the efficient and effective guidance of our trained instructors. Adding homework would risk frustration and overload. In fact, we'll set aside some time each session to help your student with their school homework.
Have a look at the ‘Own a Mathnasium’ page of our website and complete the contact form. We will then get straight back to you to discuss the opportunity with you further.
Our centres are often recruiting for their instruction teams; we have roles available from tutor/instructor level to management opportunities and are always keen to hear from candidates with strong maths skills who enjoy working with children and are good communicators. We provide extensive training for the right candidates. Please go to the Contact Us form here and send us your details.
We don’t accept childcare vouchers but contact your local centre to see whether they are running any promotional offers at the moment.
