No. Learning takes place during each Mathnasium session under the guidance of our trained instructors. Where appropriate, instructors may also use part of a session to support your child with their school maths homework.
We understand that assessments can sometimes feel daunting for children, so we take a friendly and engaging approach. We begin by helping your child feel comfortable, introducing them to the centre and explaining what to expect.

We use a combination of verbal and written questions. Some may cover topics your child has not yet learnt at school, helping us understand their current knowledge and create a bespoke learning plan based on their individual needs and goals.

Speak to your local centre team about the session options available. Some centres also offer Mathnasium@home, allowing your child to attend live online sessions with a Mathnasium instructor. If your child misses a session, they will continue with their bespoke learning plan when they next attend.
AI bots generate instant responses based on patterns in data and can help students reach answers quickly, but they lack depth and accuracy. Although an AI bot can be useful in scouring the web for information, it can’t pick up on your child’s cues and take the time to ensure true comprehension. It also can’t nurture your child’s wins or reward them for a job well done. Mathnasium meets students where they are and leads them through all stages in their maths journey. AI can be useful for instant feedback, personalised practice and exploring ideas. However, it can sometimes provide incorrect or misleading information. At Mathnasium, trained instructors check each child’s understanding, explain concepts clearly and adapt sessions to their individual learning needs.
AI tools can adapt activities using patterns in a child’s responses, but they may not recognise every sign of confusion or confidence. Mathnasium instructors observe how each child approaches maths and adjust their teaching using visual, verbal, practical and written methods.
AI can provide problem solving activities, but it may also give children answers before they have worked through the reasoning themselves. At Mathnasium, instructors ask questions, encourage children to explain their thinking and guide them towards finding solutions independently.
AI-generated answers are not always accurate, so information should be checked using a trusted source. When it comes to your child’s maths learning, a trained instructor can check their work, identify misunderstandings and explain the reasoning behind the correct answer.
