Saqib is the Centre Director at Mathnasium of Glasgow South. Prior to opening his Mathnasium Centre, Saqib had a successful 20 year career in senior Human Resource leadership roles within the software and technology sectors. Upon returning to Glasgow from London in 2020, he setup a Home Instead franchise in Perthshire which continues to run under a management operating structure.
Having studied Mathematical Sciences at Strathclyde University, he has always had a passion for Maths and recognises the value it provides in everyday life. Saqib stated that he was drawn to Mathnasium as he has seen the difference in confidence in many children whom have benefitted from the service all across London and is excited about bringing this, the first ever Mathnasium into Scotland and to develop the maths superstars of the future in and around Glasgow.
"I am excited about helping as many children in the community to truly understand maths by teaching it in a way that makes sense to them and is fun !"
Saqib is Married with one child and is an enthusiastic footballer and follower of the latest technology trends.
I have been an instructor at Mathnasium in London for over a year prior to this exciting new role in Glasgow ! In my previous role I had worked closely with students of all abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs.
I love exploring how young minds perceive logic and problem-solving, especially in maths, where patterns emerge everywhere - from numbers to nature. Seeing students tackle complex problems with their own reasoning and confidently defend their logic is what makes teaching so rewarding for me.
Before moving into education, I spent three years as an Advanced Tax Analyst at Ernst & Young, applying analytical and numerical skills in a high-level corporate environment. I hold an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Liverpool and a B.Sc. (triple major) in Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics from CHRIST university in Bangalore, India.
I thrive on challenges, enjoy brain-melting maths problems, and aim to be the ultimate problem-solver (even trying to outsmart ChatGPT!). Outside of teaching, I’m an avid coffee drinker, a keen cyclist, and a lifelong learner. I also enjoy video games—because problem-solving isn’t just for the classroom!
They say change is the only constant and that is one of the main reasons as to why I embarked upon this challenging yet rewarding venture at Mathnasium of Glasgow South. Being the first centre in Scotland, I plan to leave behind a legacy of mathematical wizards who weave their own destiny !
Hi I'm Saad and I am studying Software Engineering at Glasgow University.
I aim to remove the fear of maths within our students and make it a fun learning environment to enable them to develop their skills and succeed.
My hobbies are football ( I am a big Man united Fan !), gym, software coding and graphic design.
Hi, I’m Hawra, and I’m from Oman!
I’m in my final year at the University of Strathclyde, studying Mathematics with Teaching. I’ve always loved maths, and I enjoy helping students see that it doesn’t have to be scary or boring - maths can actually be fun! Whether it’s breaking down tricky problems, finding patterns, or just making numbers make sense, I love helping students have those “aha!” moments.
When I’m not geeking out over maths, you’ll probably find me with a coffee in hand, playing the piano, getting lost in a good book, or baking something sweet !
My name’s Dominic and I’m one of the instructors at Mathnasium. I am an Economics student at the University of Glasgow so I get to use maths every day! I have been helping young people with their maths for many years now and I am excited to be a part of the Mathnasium team to ‘’make maths make sense”!
When I’m not working I love sailing, and have travelled around Scotland and the UK with my university to compete.
Hi, my name is Anisa and I’m a first year accounting and finance student at the University of Strathclyde.
Maths has always been my favourite subject in school and I want to change students view on maths, from potential panic to mastery!
Aside from maths and studying, My hobbies are exploring new cafes with my friends, shopping, trying new recipes and baking for my family.
Hi my name is Alice and I am currently studying Architecture at the University of Strathclyde.
I have had a knack for Maths and the wonders of problem solving, since school. I love sharing my enthusiasm about the subject with younger mathematicians - to find their glow for the subject.
If I wasn't around maths, you would find me playing a range of instruments, crocheting or drawing a little detail of a building.
