Hello, I'm Juliette, the Centre Director at Mathnasium of Clapham. I am delighted to welcome you to our centre in the heart of the Clapham community. My previous experience as a languages teacher mirrors the logic and methodology that is seen in maths learning. I believe in providing the right support and encouragement to create an environment where students can thrive, from Reception through to GCSE. Additionally, having run a doggy daycare business in South London for several years, I bring strong problem-solving skills, high energy, and a creative approach to this role.
Outside of work, I am passionate about travelling and exploring new cultures. In my spare time, I also enjoy running and am currently preparing for my 11th half marathon!
I completed my Master’s degree in Mathematics with top marks and honours in 2022 in Italy, where I am originally from. I’ve also worked in a UK secondary school, where I became familiar with the English curriculum and teaching approach.
I love maths because it combines logical thinking with creativity, encouraging you to think in different and imaginative ways. Alongside my work in maths, I’m also a professional dancer, and I see strong parallels between creativity in movement and maths.
I hope to share this perspective with students and help them see maths as a creative and engaging subject.
Hi, I’m Alae!
I recently graduated from City St George’s, University of London with a First Class Honours degree in Economics and have been part of the Mathnasium team for over four years. I love helping students build confidence in maths and showing them that every challenge becomes easier when you approach it step by step.
Outside of Mathnasium, I’m a lifelong Chelsea supporter (the best club in the world!) and proudly support Morocco. Watching Morocco’s incredible 2022 World Cup run end against France was tough and somehow we managed to get knocked out by France again at the 2026 World Cup! I’ve also recently taken up running and am hoping to build up the courage to complete a half marathon abroad.
Hi, I’m Emma, one of the lead instructors at Clapham. I’ve just finished my undergraduate degree in economics and have been working at Mathnasium for over two years, although I have been tutoring in some capacity for more than a decade. My favourite part of teaching has always been guiding the students to find the answers themselves. Teaching children how to break a problem down into smaller, more manageable parts can often give them the confidence to solve more complex problems on their own!
I also love the diversity of approaches to learning available at Mathnasium. Being able to combine visual, written and spoken cues while teaching means I’m able to cater to all the different learning styles of my students, helping them learn in the way that works best for them.
Two fun facts about me are that I have lived on three continents and I am currently trying to read a book from every country in the world – I’m at 68, hoping to get to 75 this year!
I graduated in Economics and Management from LSE. Teaching at Mathnasium lets me combine my love for problem-solving with helping students gain confidence in maths.
I enjoy seeing students’ lightbulb moments and tailoring my teaching to their unique learning styles. My goal is to inspire creative thinking and help them build skills for success.
When I’m not teaching, I’m probably exploring new places, learning about different cultures, or planning my next adventure.
