Daniel is the Owner of Mathnasium of Guildford. He first discovered his love of maths at Cheltenham College, where he enjoyed tackling algebraic problems, exploring the mysteries of Pi, and quietly trying to outscore his friends on tests.
Beyond the classroom, Daniel brought the same drive and determination to several sports, earning first team honours and going on to represent England Under 18s in rugby. At the University of Manchester, he balanced his studies with professional rugby at Sale Sharks, before playing two seasons in Spain.
After qualifying as a lawyer, he built a successful career spanning over a decade in global banking, working with organisations including HSBC and Lloyds Banking Group.
He is passionate about helping students build academic confidence, develop a genuine understanding of maths, and apply it to real-world situations.
Outside of Mathnasium, he enjoys padel, golf, and spending time with Sharon and their two young boys. His latest hobby is bread making—though results so far have been mixed!
Sharon is the Centre Director at Mathnasium of Guildford. Before opening the centre, she spent over a decade working as a television camera operator with ITV, building a successful career in the fast-paced world of broadcasting.
Originally educated in Ireland, Sharon studied maths through to Leaving Certificate level before going on to earn a communications degree from Dublin City University and a Diploma in Broadcast Production from the National Film and Television School. While her career path took a creative turn, her love of problem-solving and logical thinking has always remained at the core.
A passion for teaching and helping others build confidence naturally led Sharon to Mathnasium. Having seen first-hand the impact that the right guidance and encouragement can have, she is committed to helping every child develop not only their maths skills, but also a strong belief in their own ability to learn and succeed.
Outside of the centre, Sharon enjoys cycling and making the most of the Surrey outdoors with her two children. Above all, she loves working with students and seeing those “lightbulb moments” when everything finally clicks into place.
Teach children maths so that they understand it, master it and love it. Maths can change their lives, and they can change the world.
