Our tutors are trained to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Sharon Mc Veigh

Centre Director

Sharon is the Centre Director at Mathnasium of Guildford. Before opening the centre, she spent over a decade working as a television camera operator with ITV, building a successful career in the fast-paced world of broadcasting.

Originally educated in Ireland, Sharon studied maths through to Leaving Certificate level before going on to earn a communications degree from Dublin City University and a Diploma in Broadcast Production from the National Film and Television School. While her career path took a creative turn, her love of problem-solving and logical thinking has always remained at the core.

A passion for teaching and helping others build confidence naturally led Sharon to Mathnasium. Having seen first-hand the impact that the right guidance and encouragement can have, she is committed to helping every child develop not only their maths skills, but also a strong belief in their own ability to learn and succeed.

Outside of the centre, Sharon enjoys cycling and making the most of the Surrey outdoors with her two children. Above all, she loves working with students and seeing those “lightbulb moments” when everything finally clicks into place.

Jess Randall

Assistant Manager

Jess is a qualified engineer and mathematics teacher who is passionate about helping students understand how maths applies to the real world.

Her favourite area of mathematics is Geometry, as she enjoys exploring how simple shapes can create intricate patterns and solve practical problems.

Jess loves helping students build confidence by making mathematical concepts clear, engaging and easy to understand.

Outside of Mathnasium, Jess enjoys spending time with her niece, looking after her tropical fish tank and trying different Thai dishes. She also has a hidden talent for juggling!

Ayaan Bhagat

Maths Instructor

Ayaan recently completed A-Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Politics at RGS, and is hoping to study Physics and Philosophy at university in the future.

His favourite area of mathematics is Mechanics, as it combines mathematical thinking with real-world physics to solve practical problems.

Ayaan enjoys helping students develop confidence in maths by breaking challenging concepts down into simple, manageable steps and encouraging logical problem-solving.

Outside of Mathnasium, you'll usually find him playing guitar, practising long-range target shooting, or watching and making films. He's also known for his (admittedly mediocre!) moonwalk.

Felicity Turner

Maths Instructor

Felicity recently completed her GCSEs, including Mathematics and Further Mathematics, and is looking forward to studying A-Levels at the prestigious Surrey Maths School.

Her favourite area of mathematics is Trigonometry, as she enjoys exploring the relationships between angles, sides and shapes.

Felicity loves helping students build confidence in maths by making learning enjoyable and encouraging them to tackle challenges one step at a time.

Outside of Mathnasium, Felicity enjoys rowing and hanging out with her friends. She also has a hidden talent for doing a pretty impressive handstand!

Henry Parker

Maths Instructor

Henry recently graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Classics. He also studied A-Level Mathematics, where he developed a strong interest in the subject.

His favourite area of mathematics is Calculus, particularly because of its fascinating history and how it was developed by Sir Isaac Newton to solve problems that existing mathematics couldn't explain.

Henry enjoys helping students build confidence by breaking down challenging concepts into clear, manageable steps and encouraging them to approach maths with curiosity and confidence.

Outside of Mathnasium, Henry enjoys playing video games, tennis, jogging and spending time with his dog. He also has a hidden talent for solving a Rubik's Cube!

Simon Wang

Maths Instructor

Simon studied Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A-Level before earning a Mathematics degree from the University of Warwick.

His favourite area of mathematics is Analysis, a branch of maths that explores the rigorous foundations behind mathematical ideas and problem-solving.

Simon enjoys helping students build confidence by breaking down challenging concepts into clear, manageable steps and making maths feel approachable.

Outside of Mathnasium, you'll usually find him cycling, running, or out with a camera capturing the perfect photo. He's also a keen Liverpool FC supporter and enjoys performing card magic tricks in his spare time.

Tom Fenn

Maths Instructor

Tom studied A-Level Mathematics and is currently studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Surrey, where he continues to use advanced mathematics throughout his degree.

His favourite area of mathematics is Calculus, as it combines challenging problem-solving with practical, real-world engineering applications.

Tom enjoys helping students build confidence by breaking down challenging problems into clear, manageable steps and showing them how maths can be applied beyond the classroom.

Outside of Mathnasium, Tom enjoys going to the gym, playing squash, climbing and keeping active. He's also a Harry Potter fan and has a hidden talent for three-ball juggling!
