I’m Maya, a third-year dental student at King’s College London. Maths has been my favourite subject for as long as I can remember, and I’ve always enjoyed the logic, problem-solving, and sense of achievement that comes with working through a challenging question.
I love being part of each student’s learning journey—seeing them develop their skills, gain confidence, and start enjoying maths as much as I do is incredibly fulfilling. Whether it’s helping a student master a new concept or watching them light up when something finally clicks, every moment is rewarding.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with friends and family. I love going out to eat and trying new foods, and I’m also a keen baker in my spare time.
I’m Shreya, and I’ve just finished my A levels—I’m heading off to study Maths with Statistics at university this September. What’s always drawn me to maths is the freedom it gives you to approach problems in different ways. I enjoy the challenge of working things out step by step, and there’s something really satisfying about seeing how it all fits together in the end.
Supporting students as they build confidence and improve their skills is something I find really unique to teaching. My goal isn’t just to help them understand maths but to share the enthusiasm I have for it too. Seeing the moment they have that smile on their face when a difficult idea clicks and noticing how they develop greater understanding and confidence is what’s so rewarding to me.
Outside of work, I enjoy watching Formula 1 and spending time with friends. I’m always keen to meet new people and open to new experiences—whether that means striking up a conversation or trying something completely different!
I'm Rares and I’m happy to say I’ve joined Mathnasium as a maths tutor. I’m going into Year 13, studying both Maths and Further Maths, and I’m passionate about helping students move beyond simply finding the right answer. I aim to help them develop a deeper understanding of concepts and build confidence in their problem-solving skills. Outside of tutoring, one of my passions is golf, which I enjoy both for the challenge and the focus it requires.
I’m Niyam, I’m heading into my final year of A levels, where I study maths. I’ve always loved maths because it feels like solving little puzzles—there’s nothing better than that moment when everything suddenly clicks into place. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing badminton, which keeps me active, and I also like making video games, since it lets me combine creativity with problem-solving.
Teaching is also something I’ve enjoyed for a long time. Before university I spent a few years helping to teach martial arts to kids aged 5-16 and I’m excited to now be helping students improve not only their mathematics, but also their analytical thinking, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. My favourite part of teaching is seeing the pride on a student’s face when they solve a difficult question or something that they struggled with previously.
Outside of the job I like playing piano, going on hikes and playing videogames with my friends.
I’m Ilanch, a Year 13 student who’s heading to university in September to study accounting and finance. I’m someone who’s always been passionate about maths and my favourite part is the problem solving skills you develop from it.
My goal at Mathnasium is to help each student build a strong understanding of maths and support them in their individual learning journey. One of the most rewarding parts of the job is seeing a student’s improvement just over a few weeks, especially when you can see their confidence growing with every session.
