At Mathnasium of Pinner, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed to help children build maths mastery. We combine personalised learning plans and proven teaching techniques to meet each child exactly where they are on their maths journey, so they come to truly understand concepts rather than memorise their way through them.
Our approach focuses on developing the foundation for success in the classroom and beyond, along with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills that carry through every stage of school.
Our specially trained instructors use a variety of proven mental, verbal, visual, tactile and written teaching techniques to teach in the way that works best for each child.
We work with students from Year 1 through to GCSE at our centre on Field End Road, in a supportive and fun learning environment where each child receives face-to-face maths support guided by their own personalised learning plan.
Every child at Mathnasium of Pinner begins their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment, which gives us an accurate picture of what they already know, where the knowledge gaps are, and how they approach maths.
From there, we build their personalised learning plan that closes those gaps in the right order, so each new topic sits on solid ground rather than papering over what came before.

Maya Chudasama
Instructor
I’m Maya, a third-year dental student at King’s College London. Maths has been my favourite subject for as long as I can remember, and I’ve always enjoyed the logic, problem-solving, and sense of achievement that comes with working through a challenging question.
I love being part of each student’s learning journey—seeing them develop their skills, gain confidence, and start enjoying maths as much as I do is incredibly fulfilling. Whether it’s helping a student master a new concept or watching them light up when something finally clicks, every moment is rewarding.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with friends and family. I love going out to eat and trying new foods, and I’m also a keen baker in my spare time.
Shreya Patel
Instructor
I’m Shreya, and I’ve just finished my A levels—I’m heading off to study Maths with Statistics at university this September. What’s always drawn me to maths is the freedom it gives you to approach problems in different ways. I enjoy the challenge of working things out step by step, and there’s something really satisfying about seeing how it all fits together in the end.
Supporting students as they build confidence and improve their skills is something I find really unique to teaching. My goal isn’t just to help them understand maths but to share the enthusiasm I have for it too. Seeing the moment they have that smile on their face when a difficult idea clicks and noticing how they develop greater understanding and confidence is what’s so rewarding to me.
Outside of work, I enjoy watching Formula 1 and spending time with friends. I’m always keen to meet new people and open to new experiences—whether that means striking up a conversation or trying something completely different!
Rares Pancs
Instructor
I'm Rares and I’m happy to say I’ve joined Mathnasium as a maths tutor. I’m going into Year 13, studying both Maths and Further Maths, and I’m passionate about helping students move beyond simply finding the right answer. I aim to help them develop a deeper understanding of concepts and build confidence in their problem-solving skills. Outside of tutoring, one of my passions is golf, which I enjoy both for the challenge and the focus it requires.
Niyam Shah
Instructor
I’m Niyam, I’m heading into my final year of A levels, where I study maths. I’ve always loved maths because it feels like solving little puzzles—there’s nothing better than that moment when everything suddenly clicks into place. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing badminton, which keeps me active, and I also like making video games, since it lets me combine creativity with problem-solving.
Kieran Vallabh
Instructor
Teaching is also something I’ve enjoyed for a long time. Before university I spent a few years helping to teach martial arts to kids aged 5-16 and I’m excited to now be helping students improve not only their mathematics, but also their analytical thinking, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. My favourite part of teaching is seeing the pride on a student’s face when they solve a difficult question or something that they struggled with previously.
Outside of the job I like playing piano, going on hikes and playing videogames with my friends.
Ilanchelvan Subramaniyarajah
Instructor
I’m Ilanch, a Year 13 student who’s heading to university in September to study accounting and finance. I’m someone who’s always been passionate about maths and my favourite part is the problem solving skills you develop from it.
My goal at Mathnasium is to help each student build a strong understanding of maths and support them in their individual learning journey. One of the most rewarding parts of the job is seeing a student’s improvement just over a few weeks, especially when you can see their confidence growing with every session.
Whether they would like to attend sessions in-centre or online, students can take 3 easy steps to enrol at Mathnasium.
All students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that pinpoints what they already know and what they still need to learn.

We work with children from Year 1 through to GCSE, ages 5 to 16, across all Key Stages from KS1 through to KS4. Enquiries from Reception are also welcome towards the end of the school year, when we can assess whether a child is ready to begin.
Pinner families come to us at all sorts of different stages and goals, some building solid foundations early, others focused on getting ahead in maths class or preparing for their GCSEs. Whatever your child's maths goal, we have a programme to fit.
Our instructors support children across the full primary and secondary maths curriculum, from number, fractions, decimals and percentages through to algebra, ratio, geometry and statistics, at every level from KS1 through to KS4.
Each child follows their own personalised learning plan, so no two experiences are quite alike and everyone gets the support they need.
The Mathnasium experience begins with a diagnostic assessment, so students’ learning can follow a plan shaped around their own knowledge gaps and goals. Our instructors follow the Mathnasium Method™, a structured, consistent teaching approach used across more than 1,300 centres worldwide, so progress builds steadily rather than depending on what came up that week.
Sessions take place in a supportive and fun learning environment, where children receive face-to-face maths support and build confidence.
At Mathnasium of Pinner, we don't follow a one-size-fits-all curriculum. We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed to help children build maths mastery, whatever level they're starting from.
Our instructors combine mental, verbal, visual, tactile and written techniques with personalised, assessment-based learning plans, so they can teach each child in the way that works best for them.
Sessions can complement what children are covering in school under the National Curriculum, while steadily closing any knowledge gaps that have built up over time.
Mathnasium of Pinner works with children of every skill level, whether they're catching up, keeping up with their year group or ready to get ahead.
When a child is finding maths difficult, the personalised learning plan ensures we start from exactly where they are and build forward at a pace that suits them, closing knowledge gaps methodically and growing confidence along the way.
Children going ahead of their year group get the same personalised approach, focused on enrichment that introduces them to maths beyond the school curriculum and keeps them motivated to go further.
Yes! Mathnasium of Pinner supports children preparing for the 11+, focusing on the numerical reasoning and problem-solving skills these exams test.
As entry requirements and timelines vary by school, we build every child's plan around their specific target school, leaving enough time to close any gaps before exam day.
Yes, our instructors support Year 10 and Year 11 children through their GCSE maths preparation, with a personalised plan built around their current performance, target grade and the topics where they most need to improve.
We cover the full GCSE maths curriculum, including number, algebra, geometry, ratio, probability and statistics, across both Foundation and Higher tiers.
Yes, we help Year 6 children prepare for their KS2 SATs maths papers, working through both the Arithmetic and Reasoning papers, and support Year 2 children with their KS1 teacher assessments.
We use the diagnostic assessment to identify the specific concepts that need reinforcing, then build those into the child's learning plan.
Each child's Mathnasium journey starts with a diagnostic assessment that pinpoints their strengths, knowledge gaps and personal goals, giving us what we need to build a personalised learning plan that puts them on the best path to maths mastery.
Tuition at Mathnasium of Pinner is priced as a flat monthly membership fee rather than a per-session rate, much like a gym membership. Most children get the best results attending two to three sessions a week.
Following the diagnostic assessment, we will recommend a session plan tailored to your child's learning needs and goals.
Get in touch through the Contact Us button on this page or by emailing [email protected] to arrange a free diagnostic assessment.
After the assessment, we'll walk you through the results and the personalised learning plan we've put together for your child, answering any questions before sessions begin.
Assessment is commitment-free.
