Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Priya

Centre Director
Priya is our centre director at Mathnasium of Twickenham. She has always loved maths and went on to study this at A Level. She then went to the University of Westminster to study Computer Science and received a bachelor’s degree in this. After this, Priya worked by Westminster Abbey for a fintech company and was a customer service manager for five years before going back into education to complete a master’s degree in project management. By this time covid had struck and Priya wanted to do more to help, so she took up a part-time job as a teaching assistant and helped with all the key worker’s children. She made some wonderful memories with her children at school, and they too were very fond of her. One of her fondest memories was World Book Day where she dressed as Cruella De Vil – everyone loved the outfit but many of her students said she picked the wrong character because she was too nice to be a villain! Priya had such a rewarding time doing this and seeing the children grow that she continued this for the next few years. Then, she found Mathnasium, and she loved who and what they were, so she decided to start her new chapter as our centre director. She is passionate about what she does and is excited to see her Mathnasium journey continue! Aside from her education and career, Priya is a baker. In her spare time, she is always making sweet treats, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, birthday cakes, and even wedding cakes! She has made lots of different designs and flavours, but her best seller (and taster) is her coffee and walnut cake. Although Priya loves her baking, she admitted that she would rather be under the stress of a Maths exam than the stress of baking a wedding cake!

Charlie

Instructor
Charlie completed sixth-form, delving into mathematics, further mathematics, and physics. His role at Mathnasium provides profound fulfillment as he witnesses students' growth and understanding, fostering a passion for guiding them through mathematical intricacies. Simultaneously, he's committed to obtaining an accounting qualification, bridging theoretical and practical knowledge domains. Beyond academics, Charlie finds joy in skiing, the exhilaration of hiking, and strategic chess matches. This multifaceted approach not only showcases his dedication to a well-rounded and fulfilling life but also underscores his commitment to continuous learning and contributing to the academic and personal growth of others.

Thierry

Instructor
Thierry is taking a gap year after completing A-levels in Maths and Further Maths. Next year he will be going to study Economics at university. He loves working with children and transmitting his passion for learning, especially his fascination with maths. He has worked as a maths, piano and French tutor for three years (up to GCSE level) and knows how to challenge children of varying abilities. He also enjoys volunteering with the local parish youth club where he can allow children to express themselves in a fun and safe environment. In his spare time, you'll find him on the tennis court with a friend or playing his heart out at the piano.

Maddie

Instructor
Maddie currently studies Maths with Further Maths at college, with the intention of studying Natural Sciences at university next year. She enjoys helping children understand difficult topics and helping them to realise that maths is a very fun and useful skill when used right! Outside of the maths world, she's an avid music lover and enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her dog!

Chelsea

Instructor
Currently in her gap year, Chelsea is a passionate instructor, eager to pass her love for maths onto our students! Having achieved A Levels in Maths and Further Maths, she has been able to share her understanding of applied and pure mathematics in a fun and stress-free way for the children to learn, without fear of judgement. She finds it most important that the children feel they’re in an environment where they are free to make mistakes, and are shown patience in correcting them, as it is this skill that will not only make the students love maths, but love learning. She will soon be a physics student at the university of Southampton, but until then, she occupies her time with the stage; singing, dancing and acting, spreading joy wherever she can!

Nikki

Instructor
Nikki previously has had experience volunteering to tutor GCSE maths with a goal to help change young peoples' lives. She loved watching students improve and discover their love for maths. Nikki is currently an A-level Mathematics student aspiring to study Medicine at university and wishes to share her love and knowledge in maths. Volunteering at a care home for elderly residents in her spare time, Nikki has a kind, caring and patient approach with her students and adapts her teaching methods in order to suit each individual child.

Kaya

Instructor
Kaya is currently studying maths, French and history for her A levels and hopes to go into mental health nursing. Outside of work and school kaya loves to strum her electric guitar and bake sweet treats! Kaya wants to help children find their confidence when it comes to maths and brings a variety of techniques to help your child fall in love with Mathnasium.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children maths so that they understand it, master it and love it. Maths can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make maths make sense, while also making a student smile.
