• What are your opening hours?

  Our instructional hours are: 

  • Monday to Thursday: 3:30pm – 7:30pm 

  • Friday: Closed 

  • Saturday: 10:00am – 2:00pm 

  • Sunday: 10:00am – 2:00pm

• What year groups does Mathnasium of Winchmore Hill work with?

  We work with students from Reception through to GCSE, ages 4 to 16, across every Key Stage from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to KS4.

• How do you teach maths? Which curriculum do you use?

  We don't teach to a traditional curriculum. Instructors use the Mathnasium Method™, a proprietary teaching approach that combines personalised learning plans with proven teaching techniques to promote maths mastery. 

  Sessions draw on mental, verbal, visual, tactile and written techniques, guided by each child's personalised learning plan, while staying mindful of what students are covering at school under the National Curriculum. 

• Do you work with advanced students or only children struggling with maths?

  Mathnasium of Winchmore Hill works with students of all skill levels, from those catching up to those keeping up or getting ahead in their maths class. 

  Students who are already doing well can push further with enrichment and targeted preparation for the 7+ and 11+, sharpening the speed and accuracy those papers demand. 

  For children who are finding maths difficult, the personalised learning plan ensures we start from exactly where they are and build forward at a pace that works for them, with caring instructors creating a relaxed, supportive environment where their confidence can grow. 

• Do you prepare children for the 11+?

  Absolutely! Mathnasium of Winchmore Hill supports children preparing for the 11+ and 7+ entrance exams used by local grammar and independent schools. 

  We recommend starting preparation at least a year ahead of the exam, giving children time to build numerical reasoning skills and work steadily through the range of question types they'll meet on the day.

• Do you offer GCSE maths tutoring?

  Of course, our instructors support Year 10 and Year 11 students through GCSE maths, working from a personalised learning plan built around their target grade and the topics where they most need to improve.  

  We cover the full GCSE maths curriculum across both Foundation and Higher tiers. 

• Do you prepare children for SATs?

  Certainly! We help Year 6 students prepare for their KS2 SATs papers, covering both the Arithmetic and Reasoning elements and support Year 2 students working towards their KS1 assessments. 

• How much does maths tutoring cost at Mathnasium of Winchmore Hill?

  Mathnasium of Winchmore Hill operates on a flat monthly membership fee, much like a gym membership. Most students attend two to three sessions a week depending on their personalised learning plan.
