• Where is Mathnasium of Wokingham located?

  Mathnasium of Wokingham is at 58-64 Charwood Road, Wokingham, RG40 1RY, in the Bean Oak Shopping Parade, close to Wokingham town centre and St Crispin's School. There's plenty of free parking directly outside the centre, making drop-off and collection easy for families.

• What are your opening hours?

  Our instructional hours are: 

  • Monday to Thursday: 3:30pm – 7:30pm 

  • Fridays: 3:30pm – 6:30 pm 

  • Saturday: 10:00am – 2:00pm 

  Our office is open Monday to Thursday from 12:30pm to 7:30pm and Saturday from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

• What year groups does Mathnasium of Wokingham work with?

  We work with children from Reception through to GCSE, ages 4 to 16, across all Key Stages from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to KS4. 

  Wokingham families come to us at all sorts of different stages, some focused on building early numeracy and number sense, others on getting ahead in maths class or preparing for GCSEs. Whatever your child's maths goal, we have a programme to fit.

• How do you teach maths? Which curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of Wokingham, we don't follow a one-size-fits-all curriculum. Instead, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach designed to help children build maths mastery, whatever level they're starting from. 

  Our instructors combine mental, verbal, visual, tactile and written techniques with personalised, assessment-based learning plans, teaching each child in the way that works best for them. Sessions can complement what children are covering in school under the National Curriculum, while steadily closing any knowledge gaps that have built up along the way.

• Do you work with advanced children or only the ones struggling with maths?

• Do you help prepare children for the 11+?

  Yes! Mathnasium of Wokingham supports children preparing for the 11+, including ISEB Common Pre-Test assessments, focusing on the numerical reasoning and problem-solving skills these exams test. 

  As entry requirements and timelines vary by school, we build every child's plan around their specific target school, leaving enough time to close any gaps before exam day. 

• Do you offer GCSE maths tutoring?

  Yes, our instructors support Year 10 and Year 11 children through their GCSE maths preparation, with a personalised plan built around their current performance, target grade and the topics where they most need to improve. 

  We cover the full GCSE maths curriculum, including number, algebra, geometry, ratio, probability and statistics, across both Foundation and Higher tiers.

• Do you prepare children for SATs?

  Yes, we help Year 6 children prepare for their KS2 SATs maths papers, working through both the Arithmetic and Reasoning papers, and support Year 2 children with their KS1 teacher assessments. 

  We use the diagnostic assessment to identify the specific concepts that need reinforcing, then build those into the child's learning plan.

• Why do you require an assessment for enrolment?

  The diagnostic assessment helps us understand each student, including their skill level, knowledge gaps and personal goals. We use this information to create a personalised learning plan that will put them on the best path to maths mastery.

• How much does maths tutoring cost at Mathnasium of Wokingham?

  Mathnasium of Wokingham provides premium-value tuition for a flat monthly membership fee rather than a per-session rate, much like a gym membership. Most children get the best results attending two to three sessions a week. 

  Following the diagnostic assessment, we will recommend a session plan tailored to your child's learning needs and goals.
