Meet Our Richmond Maths Tutors
Fiona Mackenzie
Fiona is the Centre Director at Mathnasium of Richmond. In her fifth year of working with Mathnasium, she has fallen in love with everything Mathnasium has to offer. Prior to opening Mathnasium, Fiona had a varied career. She completed an MSc in Mathematics at Edinburgh University before embarking on a career in Performing Arts. Fiona spent many years at sea, where she was the lead vocalist in several theatre companies. She completed her studies at Kings College London, where she studied for a Master's Degree in Psychology and Mental Health. She began working as an instructor to supplement her studies, but soon after became the Centre Director of a nearby centre. It was at that point she knew that this was her career path. Having seen the transformation in confidence in so many children over the last five years, she is excited to share her passion for both Maths and Mathnasium with the children in Richmond. Outside of Mathnasum, Fiona loves staying active alongside regular trips to the theatre. She has promised herself since 2018 that she is finally going to get back into hockey- maybe this is her year.

All students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that pinpoints what they already know and what they still need to learn.
Using assessment-based insights, we will create a personalised learning plan for each student. Our detailed plan takes students step-by-step from where they are to where they need to go.
Once their personalised learning plan is ready and the pace of weekly maths sessions established, students can start working with their maths tutor in-centre or by logging into live online sessions with them.

Mathnasium provides premium value by combining a superior learning experience with an efficient structure that keeps costs low. There is a flat enrolment fee for our programme, and students attend regularly—much like a gym membership. We recommend that they attend Mathnasium 2-3 times per week as attending less frequently will slow results and attending too often could lead to student burnout.
