Our tutors are trained to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Edward

Centre Manager

Edward’s passion for Maths started when he was very young, with it quickly becoming his favourite subject at school. After school, he then went on to complete a music degree before joining us at Mathnasium in Whetstone as an instructor. Edward was a student and parent favourite at the centre and quickly climbed through the ranks. Edward is now returning to Mathnasium after a year abroad teaching in Australia. Along with a love for travel, Edward enjoys music, running and all things sport.

Jess

Regional Sales Manager

She began her Mathnasium journey as the Centre Manager at Mathnasium of Ealing, where she developed a deep passion for helping students grow in confidence and ability through maths. A long-time fan of the Mathnasium Method, Jess is now focused on supporting centres across the region in delivering outstanding experiences for families and driving continued growth. Outside of Mathnasium, Jess enjoys socialising with her friends and watching TV.

Sunny

Sunny holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Warwick and an MSc in Organisational Psychology from King’s College London. With a love for problem-solving and a passion for child development and organisational change, she pursued a career in private education. Her experience teaching various year groups and working in customer service deepened her interest in helping children learn and grow. Now at Mathnasium, Sunny is excited to help boost students’ confidence in a positive learning environment. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching movies, and reading.

Tio

Assistant Centre Manager

Tio holds an MEng in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Nottingham. Maths has always been his favourite subject, and he was inspired by his mum, who is also a maths teacher. His love for problem-solving drew him to both engineering and tutoring, as he enjoys breaking down concepts into simpler steps to help students gain confidence in their abilities. Tio always finds creative ways to make maths engaging and fun for every student, using games and visual aids. Outside of tutoring, he enjoys playing and watching football, as well as listening to music from a variety of genres.

Maya

Instructor

Maya Kanani is studying Physics at Imperial College London. Whilst at school, Maya excelled in mathematics which led to her receiving an academic scholarship. Maya is a confident, energetic and enthusiastic tutor with a desire to pass her strong Maths skills onto the next generation. Fun fact: Maya started playing the piano at the age of 3 and learnt to read music before reading sentences. This aptitude for music has only strengthened and she currently plays in the Imperial College jazz band, as well as producing her own music.

Alae

Instructor

Alae is currently studying International Relations at Queen Mary University of London. She has always had a strong passion for mathematics, from primary school through A-levels, drawn to its universal language and the logic that shapes the world around us. Alongside her love for numbers, she enjoys working with children and finds fulfilment in helping young minds grow.  Outside of Mathnasium Alae loves watching movies, especially the Shrek franchise.

Amro

Instructor

Amro is currently a student of Mathematics at Queen Mary University of London and plans to pursue a Master’s in Financial Mathematics. His love for maths began at a young age and has only grown stronger over the years. Tutoring gives him the opportunity to share this passion and help students build confidence in the subject. He finds it especially rewarding to break down complex concepts and witness that “aha!” moment when everything clicks. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, watching TV and listening to music.

Jess

Instructor

Jess is currently self-studying two additional A-Levels: Further Maths and Biology, after achieving three A*s in her Maths, Chemistry, and Graphic Communication A-levels.  Jess plans to study Biochemistry at a top university in September.
