Edward

Centre Manager

Edward has a strong academic background in mathematics, having studied the subject for a year at the University of Bath before pursuing a degree in Music at the Academy of Contemporary Music. While completing his degree, Edward worked as a maths tutor at Mathnasium Whetstone, where he quickly became a favourite among students and families. He then spent a year in Australia, continuing his passion for education by teaching maths to children and gaining valuable experience in a different learning environment.

After returning to the UK, Edward joined Mathnasium St Albans as Centre Manager, where he has now been leading the centre for over two years. Known for his energy, enthusiasm, and ability to connect with students, Edward is often surrounded by children at his desk, all keen to put in prize requests for the cabinet. He is passionate about creating a fun, welcoming environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and excited to learn maths.

Outside of Mathnasium, Edward enjoys travelling, running, sport, quizzes, music, and singing in a cappella groups.

Parvi

Assistant Centre Manager

Parvi holds an MSci in Chemistry from the University of Oxford, where she developed strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills alongside her scientific knowledge. Having achieved an A* in A Level Maths, she has always enjoyed the role mathematics plays in understanding complex ideas, particularly within the sciences. As a woman in STEM, Parvi is passionate about encouraging students to build confidence in maths and recognise the opportunities that strong mathematical skills can create.

Parvi has been tutoring children since 2019, giving her over seven years of experience both before joining Mathnasium. During her time with us, she progressed from Instructor to Lead Instructor and now Assistant Manager, reflecting her dedication to children’s education and the positive impact she has made on students’ learning and confidence.

Outside of Mathnasium, Parvi enjoys travelling, spending three months backpacking across Asia, exploring different countries and cultures.

Jess

Regional Sales Manager

Jess graduated with a degree in Sociology from the London School of Economics after attending Harrow International School Bangkok, where she developed a strong academic foundation and a passion for learning. She has been part of the Mathnasium team for over four years, beginning her journey as Centre Manager at Mathnasium of Ealing before progressing into her current regional role.

Drawing on her experience supporting families and leading a centre, Jess enjoys understanding each child's strengths, challenges, and goals before guiding parents through the Mathnasium Method and its personalised approach to maths education. She is passionate about helping children build confidence in maths and ensuring every family feels informed, supported, and excited from their very first conversation with Mathnasium.

Outside of Mathnasium, Jess enjoys spending time with friends and relaxing with a good TV series.

Sunny

Regional Operations Manager

Sunny holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Warwick and an MSc in Organisational Psychology from King's College London. Through her studies in statistics, child development, and behavioural science, she developed a strong understanding of how children learn and how positive learning environments support long-term success.

Sunny began her Mathnasium journey at the Harrow centre over three and a half years ago and now supports six centres, helping maintain exceptional educational standards, develop instructors, and deliver personalised maths education. Passionate about helping children build confidence in maths, she is committed to ensuring every student receives an engaging, supportive learning experience. 

Outside of Mathnasium, Sunny enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching films, and reading a good book.

Luke

Lead Tutor

Luke graduated with a Master’s in Computer Science from Newcastle University, where his degree developed his strong mathematical knowledge, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. With a particular passion for statistics, data, and working with numbers, Luke has always enjoyed exploring the different ways mathematics can be applied to solve problems. He began his journey at Mathnasium as a Tutor and, through his hard work, dedication, and commitment to students’ educational progress, progressed to become a Lead Instructor. Luke enjoys helping students understand new topics and seeing their confidence grow as their skills develop. 

Outside of maths, Luke loves video games, both playing them and creating them himself.

Becca

Tutor

Becca achieved a First Class degree in Earth Sciences from University College London, one of the world’s leading universities, having previously studied Maths and Physics. Her academic background has given her a strong foundation in mathematics, scientific problem-solving, and analytical thinking. After travelling around the world, Becca returned to the UK to share her love of Maths and help students succeed. Having been largely self-taught throughout her academic journey, she understands the importance of learning effectively and tailoring support to suit each student. Becca teaches at both Mathnasium St Albans and Mathnasium Winchmore Hill, creating a comfortable and engaging environment where students can build confidence in Maths and beyond. 

Outside of Mathnasium, she enjoys backpacking, boxing, and listening to uptempo hardcore.

Hanna

Tutor

Hanna is studying French and Spanish at University College London, one of the world’s leading universities, where she continues to develop her passion for languages, creativity, and problem-solving. Having achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics, Hanna has always enjoyed the logical and creative thinking that maths encourages. With over three years of tutoring experience, she has supported students of all abilities, adapting her approach to suit each learner and helping them build confidence in the subject. Hanna is particularly well-liked by her students for her friendly, approachable personality, and she enjoys getting to know learners from different backgrounds, often picking up a new word or phrase from them during lessons. Alongside tutoring, she is Vice President of a university society. 

Outside of Mathnasium, she enjoys language learning, travelling, and discovering new cultures.

Amro

Tutor

Amro has graduated with a degree in Mathematics from Queen Mary University of London and is now studying for a Master’s in Financial Mathematics at King’s College London. With a passion for mathematics that began at a young age, he particularly enjoys the logical and analytical side of the subject and tackling challenging problems. His academic journey has given him a strong understanding of mathematical concepts, which he enjoys sharing with students at Mathnasium. Amro finds tutoring especially rewarding when he can break down complex ideas into simple steps and experience the moment everything finally clicks for a student. 

Outside of maths, he enjoys playing basketball, watching TV, and listening to music.

Aran

Tutor

Aran is a Mathematics graduate with a strong academic foundation in mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and logical thinking. His degree has deepened his appreciation for the subject and strengthened his ability to approach complex problems from different perspectives. At Mathnasium St Albans, Aran enjoys using this knowledge to help students break down challenging concepts into clear, manageable steps. He particularly enjoys seeing students develop confidence as their understanding grows and helping them realise that maths becomes much more approachable with the right support. 

Outside of tutoring, Aran enjoys going to the gym, following football, and keeping up with developments in data, technology, and finance.

Jess

Tutor

Jess is currently studying Biochemistry at university, having achieved three A*s in A Level Maths, Chemistry, and Graphic Communication. She has also studied Further Maths and Biology, further strengthening her academic background across mathematics and the sciences. Jess has always enjoyed the problem-solving nature of maths and particularly values finding different approaches to challenging problems. At Mathnasium, she enjoys helping students develop their mathematical skills and confidence, especially when they begin to see that topics they once found difficult are within their reach. 

Outside of Mathnasium, Jess has a passion for art, particularly acrylic painting, tonal drawing, and graphic design, and enjoys staying active through running and going to the gym.

Miles

Tutor

Miles is currently studying Physics at the University of Bath, where mathematics plays a central role in understanding the physical world. Having developed a strong interest in Maths throughout school, he particularly enjoys seeing how mathematical ideas can be applied to explain real-world phenomena through Physics. This has shaped the way he approaches the subject and his enthusiasm for helping others understand it. At Mathnasium, Miles enjoys supporting students on their mathematical journeys and encouraging them to find their own enjoyment in problem-solving and discovery. He hopes to help students see Maths as more than a collection of formulas, but as a subject they can genuinely understand and enjoy.

Outside of his studies, Miles enjoys playing musical instruments and board games.

Salma

Tutor

Salma is currently studying Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and French, with aspirations to study Medicine in the future. With a particular passion for Maths, she enjoys the logical and problem-solving side of the subject and loves finding ways to make it more approachable for others. At school, Salma regularly takes part in peer mentoring, supporting younger students across different subjects and helping them build confidence in their abilities. This experience inspired her to join the Mathnasium team, where she enjoys creating a fun and welcoming environment for students, often accompanied by a few terrible maths jokes! 

Outside of Mathnasium, Salma enjoys writing, watching plays, studying human anatomy, wearing sunglasses, and perfecting her eyeliner wing.

Laura

Tutor

Laura is currently studying A Levels and hopes to pursue a degree in Mathematics at university. With Maths consistently being her strongest and favourite subject, she particularly enjoys the logical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity involved in tackling challenging questions. At Mathnasium, Laura loves sharing her enthusiasm for mathematics with younger students and showing them how rewarding the subject can be. She enjoys helping students work through difficult concepts, build their skills, and develop the confidence to take on new challenges. Her favourite part of tutoring is seeing that “aha!” moment when something suddenly clicks, and she hopes to inspire students to see the opportunities that studying Maths can open up. 

Outside of tutoring, Laura enjoys running and staying active.

Blanka

Tutor

Blanka is currently studying A Level Maths and has been part of the Mathnasium team for over a year. With a strong understanding of the subject, she enjoys helping students work through challenging questions and explaining mathematical concepts clearly and straightforwardly. Blanka is especially supportive with the students, regularly praising their efforts and celebrating their progress to help build confidence and motivation. She is well loved by students for her friendly and approachable personality and creates a positive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and enjoying maths. 

Outside of Mathnasium, Blanka enjoys spending time with her friends, going out, and making the most of her free time.

Andrew

Tutor

Andrew is currently studying A Levels in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, with a strong interest in problem-solving and the logical side of mathematics. Alongside his studies, he volunteers as a Youth Worker with One YMCA in Hatfield, where he regularly supports children with Maths assignments as well as other subjects. This experience has strengthened his passion for teaching and helping younger students build their confidence. Andrew enjoys making Maths approachable and engaging, particularly by helping students understand the ideas behind the methods they use. His enthusiasm for teaching began after being introduced to the “up to and over 10” method, which showed him how a simple approach can completely change the way a student understands Maths. 

Outside of Mathnasium, Andrew enjoys playing football and is a passionate Manchester City supporter.

Jay

Tutor

Jay achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics and A* grades in both A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics, alongside winning Gold in the Senior Maths Challenge twice. His strong mathematical ability is matched by a genuine passion for helping others understand and enjoy the subject. During sixth form, Jay led his school’s Maths Club, developing his leadership skills while supporting fellow students with challenging topics and encouraging greater engagement with mathematics. At Mathnasium, he enjoys making maths accessible and enjoyable for learners of all abilities, adapting his explanations to help students develop confidence and stronger problem-solving skills. 

Outside of maths, Jay enjoys fitness and sport, music composition, playing the piano and drums, and drawing.

Jimi

Tutor

Jimi is currently studying A Level Maths, Economics, Physics, and Politics, with aspirations to study Economics at university. His combination of subjects has strengthened his analytical and problem-solving skills, while giving him a wider appreciation of how mathematics can be used to understand patterns, data, models, and ideas across different fields. Jimi’s passion for Maths grew when he stopped seeing it as a set of rules to memorise and started understanding why those rules work. This is something he aims to bring into every Mathnasium session, helping students understand the reasoning behind their work rather than simply following steps. He particularly enjoys making challenging topics feel more approachable and helping students grow in confidence.

Outside of tutoring, Jimi enjoys going to the gym, playing basketball, and reading manga.

Zara

Tutor

Zara is a friendly A Level student studying Maths and Science, with a strong interest in problem-solving and understanding how things work. She enjoys working with students and particularly loves meeting new people, making friends, and getting to know each learner as an individual. At Mathnasium, Zara enjoys helping students work through challenging questions and supporting them as they build confidence in their mathematical skills. Her approachable and encouraging personality helps create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from their mistakes. 

Outside of Mathnasium, Zara enjoys crocheting small toys, reading books, riding her bike, and spending time with friends.

Jessica

Tutor

Jessica is currently studying A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, and Geography, with aspirations to study Mathematics at a leading university. Her subject choices reflect a strong interest in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and understanding how different ideas can be approached logically. Jessica’s passion for Maths comes from breaking down challenging problems and finding different ways to reach a solution. At Mathnasium, she enjoys helping students tackle topics they may initially find difficult and supporting them as they develop both their mathematical skills and confidence. She believes that building confidence through Maths can have a positive impact far beyond the classroom. 

Outside of Mathnasium, Jessica enjoys spending time with her friends and going to the gym.

Sonal

Tutor

Sonal is currently studying A Levels in Maths and Science, with aspirations to pursue Dentistry at university. Alongside her interest in the sciences, Sonal has a real passion for mathematics and problem-solving, enjoying the challenge of working through difficult questions and finding logical solutions. At Mathnasium, she loves helping students understand new concepts and making learning feel fun and approachable. Her friendly and encouraging personality means she connects easily with students, helping them feel comfortable while building their confidence in Maths. 

Outside of Mathnasium, Sonal enjoys playing the piano and challenging herself with Sudoku.
